Lots of effort and determination went in to helping the Thunder dom- inate the play. The squad had plenty of scoring chances but were often thwarted by the good play of •the Cougar goalie who fought off several attacks to keep his team in the game. Anthony Peters led the way for Blyth with three goals, while Jory Uyl, Darcy Young and Katie McClinchey each buried one between the posts. Blyth goalies sharing the shutout were Young, Peters, Kenny Plunkett and Uyl. Huron, Perth Children's Aid Societies consider merger In a continuing effort to provide excellent and cost-effective child welfare services within the Counties of Huron and Perth, the boards of the Huron County and Perth County Children's Aid Societies have agreed to explore the feasibility of a merger. Both boards are clear that any merg- er must demonstrate cost and client service benefits to both counties in order to proceed. The Ministry of Community and Social Services' Regional office has expressed support in principle for the plan and is prepared to enter into further discussions as the initiative proceeds. The boards' next step will be to engage an independent reviewer to assess the feasibility of the proposed merger.
