Blyth Festival's season poster was
unveiled Wednesday evening at the
2001 Season Launch.
Former Blyth resident Jo
Manning's painting of a shirt against
a stormy sky is the central image of
this year's brochure and poster.
Manning studied at the Ontario
College of Art, and her work may be
seen at the National Gallery of
Canada. She has had many solo and
group exhibitions in Canada and
abroad, and has received numerous
national and international awards for
her work.
Manning continues to work as a
full-time artist today. She spent
about 20 years in the Blyth area and

Helpers at the book fair were

to be used in the near future.
Mrs Walker's Grade 2/3s have
received letters from the Grade 2/3
students of Listowel Central Public
School. The• class is now writing
them back, some including pictures
of themselves or hand drawn pic-

Mrs. Walker's students were very
excited about getting their first pen

Blyth's most popular posters over
the years have featured the work of
area artists," Artistic Director, Anne
Chislett explains. "I felt Jo's paint-
ing captured a particularly drdmatic
and evocative mood."
This season's poster and
brochure were designed by Heidi
Holdsworth of Creative Feats in
Stratford and generously sponsored
by Blyth Printing and Pioneer Hi-

again has printed the Festival poster
