Blyth's 125th group gets loan
By Bonnie Gropp
Citizen staff
Blyth Lions Ken Stewart and Bev
Blair appeared before North Huron
council Monday night to discuss the
Homecoming celebration planned
for the Civic Holiday weekend in
2002.
Stewart explained that about 25
people were meeting regularly now
to get things started. Some commit-
tees had been set and though no for-
mal agenda was done there were a
lot of ideas being discussed.
For insurance purposes the com-
mittee was made an ad hoc commit-
tee with Councillor Murray Nesbitt
as the municipal representative.
Also, a motion passed granting a
loan for start up costs to the commit-
tee in the amount of $5,000, the
same figure designated by the old
Blyth council as a donation to the
group from the sale of Blyth Hydro.
