FROM BRUSSELS
By Lee Chesterfield
The St. Valentine's Day celebra-
tion really surpassed itself this year.
The day before was spent in mak-
ing paper hearts, cupids complete
with bow and arrow. Then the
Valentine's day luncheon, catered by
JR's, was chicken, wedgie potatoes,
(for which they are famous) and
coleslaw.
Many residents had invited rela-
tions and friends.
In the afternoon the Huron Strings
entertained. They were as always,
excellent and we hope to see them
again soon.
As to the weather (which is every-
one's premier topic) we mustn't
complain about the cold and the
snow.
Why shouldn't we? - Well, we

Euchre results were: high lady,
Anna Cunningham; high man, Ken
Barbour; low lady, Mary Huether;
low man, Geo. Inglis; most lone
hands, Emmerson Mitchell, Helen
Gallop; most zeros, Mary Bryans,
John Brown.
Tally card winners were also
drawn.
Door prizes were won • by Sarah
Stephenson, Muriel Whitfield and
Allan Edgar while the 50/50 winner
was Ken Barbour.
haven't had a flu epidemic and that
is probably due to the cold tempera-
tures.
We certainly can complain about
flooded basements and slippery
roads not to mention closed high-
ways. But just think — we are
approaching March and that means
spring is nearly here!
Huronlea has a new doctor. He is
Dr. Martin Bokhout from Clinton
and we welcome him aboard.
We received a letter from Dr.
Woldnik paying that he missed all
the residents and the excellent staff.
He is practising in Parry Sound and
that is "good fishing country" so he
is sure to be happy.
See • you next month when
just maybe we'll be counting the
tulips.
Well, we can have lots of weather
conversation this week with snow,
sleet, rain and sun all in the offering
for Brussels. The weather certainly
changes fast from snowbanks to
bare pavements. Yes, Mother
Nature rules.

and fishing poles. The Cottage,
Boat and Fishing Show at Western
Fairgrounds was even more enjoy-
able as the snow whipped about
keeping winter very evident.
Summer was but a dream.

Income tax time is in the air as the
last of the receipts and other impor-
tant stuff gets another shuffle before
it gets dealt with and filed. Another
