Make holiday parties a hit
With the holiday season just
around the corner, it's party time!
Chances are you'll be attending
office parties, cocktail receptions,
family get-togethers or planning
your own events.
Here are a few suggestions to
help make your party the hit of the
season:
• Spend a little extra time refining
the guest list. Don't feel obliged to
invite everyone you know. Be
selective and invite people who
have some common interests and
will mix well.
• Be sure to pick a day and time as
soon as you can then mail out
invitations or call friends
personally.
• Plan the menu carefully because
you are going to be busy
shopping, decorating and
entertaining to worry about
spending a lot of time cooking.
Select dishes that complement
each other, make a nice
presentation and can be prepared
in advance. Careful planning will
also keep you out of the kitchen
during the evening allowing you
time to mingle with guests and
ensure everyone is having a good
time.
• Have your camera handy to
capture all the fun and festivities
instantly. Instant pictures really
break the ice and put everyone at
ease. They give strangers a reason
to talk to one another, opening up
