This goal seemed to ignite the Brussels squad as they put pressure on Hensall. Midway through the first period Taylor Prior knocked in the rebound of a Ben Gowing shot to tie the game. In the final minute of the first period Cody Subject scored an unassisted goal to give Brussels a 2 - I lead. Zurich hit the scoreboard first when Wayne Drake nailed one mid-way through the first period. Kendall Whitfield, with an assist from Brittany Peters cancelled it with less than a minute to go. Tony Bean gave Blyth the lead in the second period while Derek Youngblut earned the assist. Bean bulged the twine a second time in the third period to give his team some insurance. They held on for the rest of the clock for a 3-1 win. The team's next home game is Saturday at 9:30 a.m. against Clin- ton. Oops! Sometimes these things happen. Shots on net where earned by Gowing (five), Gavin Bowers (two), Smith and Deitner. Good work along the boards by Bowers and Shea McLean kept the puck in open ice where nice passes were made. into a shoot-out to decide the win- ner.
