The Blyth PeeWee player has to do some careful
maneuvering as the Belmore forward moves in. Blyth had -
this game under control in the early goings with a seven-
goal lead by the first few minutes of the second period.
The two teams faced off in the annual Blyth Legion
PeeWees tournament.

Atom Reps lose 2, win 1
It could be a rough winter for
snowmobilers in Seaforth and those
hoping to stop by after their own
town council agreed, at the Nov. 24
meeting, to ban the machines with-
in town limits.
The decision was a result of a
petition from 34 property owners
along William Street. They were
protesting the proposed route for a
new trail into the business district
from the BW Trailblazers' (whose
trails run north of Seaforth), Hen-
sall Pineridge Snowmobile Club's

It was two losses and a win for
the Brussels Atom Reps team in
recent WOAA hockey.
On Nov. 30, the team faced a
tough defeat to a hosting Zurich
squad. Greg Bowers, with helpers
from Josh Albrechtas and Andrew
McDonald notched the only visit-
ing marker while the Zurich team

The Blyth Bulldogs Tyke team
travelled to Clinton on Friday, Dec.
4 for an exhibition game. The team
played very aggressively pulling
off a win with Blyth scoring 7 and
Blyth goalie Sheldon Reid holding
on for a shutout.
Saturday morning had the team
up and at 'em bright and early for
another exhibition game in
Brussels. The team showed how
much they have improved by
keeping the score tied 1-1 until four
minutes left in the game.
Brussels found the goalie tied up
and stuck the puck in the net to put
them ahead by one. Blyth kept up a
strong offensive attack but victory
On Dec. 4, the Saugeen Maitland
Lightning PeeWees travelled to
London for a game against the
Devilettes PeeWee "AA" hockey
team.
It was back-and-forth action for
most of the first period. The
Lightning opened the scoring on a
wrist shot by Heather Walker with
three minutes left. London came
back to tie on a power play goal to
end the period.
The Devilettes jumped out early
in the second and then added
another with 22 seconds remaining
in the period.

Brussels continued to buzz the
Blyth goal but goaltender Greg
Dodds made several outstanding
saves to keep the score tied.
With five minutes left in the
game Cowing jumped on his own
rebound to score and give Brussels
the lead. Two minutes later Gowing
completed his hat trick. Thomas
Johnston collected an assist on the
play.

tallied five.
Coaching staff noted that the
team just couldn't seem to get
going.
On Dec. 4, the squad hosted
Elma-Logan and despite solid play
in the first two periods gave it away
in the third allowing four goals that
period.
The final was 7-1.
The news was better from Clin-
ton on Dec. 5, when the team
played to a 4-3 finish.
Scoring for Brussels was Bowers,
Adam McClure and Chris Corbett
with two. Corbett and Darcey Cook
earned assists.
Coaches were pleased with this
effort saying that everyone played
three good periods of hockey.
Though the team had been down 2-
0, nice passing led to the first two
goals, while great shooting paid off
with the last two.
