Livery displays women's art
The Women's Shelter and
Counselling Services of Huron is
presenting "Celebrating Minerva",
a stunning exhibit and sale of
women's art.
The event will take place at The
Livery in Goderich on Oct. 2 and 3.
The gala opening (Friday evening,
6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.) will offer

KATHLEEN ELIZABETH
LONGMAN
Kathleen Elizabeth Longman of
Blyth died on Aug. 31, 1998. She
was 77.
Born in Hullett Twp. on Dec. 25,
1920, she was the daughter of the
late Joseph and Amelia Yungblut.
She was married to Carl
Longman.
Mrs. Longman -was a retired
nurse. She was a member of
Londesboro United Church.
Along with her husband Carl
who resides at Seaforth Manor,
Mrs. Longman is survived by her
children, George Longman, Grace
and Frank Dolmage and Donna
fashions. Saturday from 11 a.m. to
4 p.m. provides an opportunity for
a second look.
Minerva was the Greek goddess
of handicrafts and the protector of
the home (and state) ... an ideal
symbol for both women's artistic
endeavours and the work of the
Huron shelter.
The juried show will offer
multimedia art — from paintings to

is starting to look at how local sites
are operated, Davidson said.
"Whether they are going to move
on that is anyone's guess."
