Blyth Mites win 3 enroute to A title It was a spectacular finish to the season for the Blyth Mite ball team as they took the A title in a week- end tournament held in Holmesville. Blyth swept through the first match-up, defeating Vanastra 22-5. The boys jumped out early, push- ing seven home in the first at-bat. They welcomed Goderich Twp. to the field, Aug. 12, but were unre- lenting in their attack. Holding Goderich scoreless in the first, Hullett plated three in the bottom of the inning.. However, the defense could not hold off the opponent as they came out swinging in the second for seven runs to take the lead. With Hullett scoring only two in the second, Goderich widened their lead with five more in their next at- bat. Down 12-5, Hullett decided to make up ground in the third when they slugged for seven runs, includ- ing a Jon Merner homer.
