a serious personal injury accident
which occurred at 9:50 a.m. June
17, at the intersection of Division
Line and Hydro Line in Hullett

released. Pickett was transported to

Morris council seeks
appeals amendment
Morris council requested a reso-
lution be drawn and circulated to
all municipalities for endorsement
seeking an amendment to the
appeals process. The change would
prevent a situation occurring where
a major industry can be lost due to
a "frivolous" objection to an OPA
or zoning amendment.
A draft will be drawn and
reviewed by council and possibly
sent to the Rural Ontario Munici-
palities Association conference for
February, 1999.
County Planner Wayne Caldwell
will attend the July 7 meeting of
council to review the township's
recommendations for the county
plan.

$23,000 in funding to install chlori-
nation equipment, pressure tank's
and other equipment at the munici-
pal office/arena well.
A watermain connection will also
be made to the Humphries subdivi-
sion water system to provide a
backup for both in case one needs
to be shut down.
Reeve Donald Schultz expressed
his pleasure that the funds had been
granted and that the work would be
completed this summer.
"The residents will enjoy a better
quality of water," he said.
Huron County will receive
$96,216 to rehabilitate Ausable
Bridge #1 on County Rd. 83 in
Stephen Twp.
With the addition of $652,068
from the county, Bridge #1, as well
as Ausable Bridge #2, Black Creek
Bridge and County Rd. 83 will be
repaired and upgraded.
