The new naturalized area at East Wawanosh Public
School gives children the opportunity to study insects and
small creatures in their natural habitat while beautifying a
portion of the school yard. Constructed over the last two
weeks by Grade 4-8 students with the help of $4,100 from
the Shell Environmental fund, the area consists of a
goldfish pond, butterfly garden, berry trees, bird boxes
and rock piles for snakes and rodents. Sue and Cody
Richmond took a look at the pond after the playground
dedication ceremony, June 11.
