A ewe gave birth to four lambs, May 21, a rare occurrence for a Suffolk-Dorset cross. The Jamieson children, Kyle and Shania, look forward to playing with the little ones. C. McCracken greets at Knox Cathy McCracken greeted worshippers to Knox United Church on Sunday, May 17. Dave Williams welcomed everyone. Elizabeth Procter was organist. Michele Pletch and Julie VanCamp were in charge of nursery. The senior mixed choir sang Listen for the Whispers of Jesus accompanied by pianist Elizabeth Procter. The sermon was based on "Born Free". Program Convenor, Isabel Campbell read the motto "Team Work — working together works." She then introduced the Dynamics - Julie Moffat, Heidi Whytock and Laura Jarvis, who performed two tap dancing numbers. The guest speaker was Dorothy Chapman from Exeter, a handwriting analyst who spoke on Mabel's Moms met on Wednesday, May 20. Those who attended were Lila Procter and Jessica; Kim Higgins, Laura, Jarrod and Ashley; Linda Hess and Judith; Mary Jane Hobden and Stephen; Karen Rundle and Holly. Their topic was "Sharing". NC Brick will hold its cold meat supper from 5 - 7 p.m. at the Women's Institute Hall. Baptism will take place at Knox United on Sunday, May 31. Kim McCarter greeted worshippers to Knox United Church Conference on Sunday, May 24. John McIntosh being chairperson welcomed worshippers in the absence of Rev. Mary Jane Hobden who attended London Conference Annual meeting at Centralia International Academy. The the WI District Annual meeting at Dungannon. The Memorial Service at Brandon Cemetery will be on July 5. A donation was made to the Children's Hospital of Western Ontario. It was decided to buy a stone at the Belgrave Park with the Belgrave WI name on it. The next meeting will be on June 16 with Dianna Robinson convenor of the program. On May 20 there were nine tables of euchre in play at the Women's Institute Hall. Winners were: high lady, Effie McCall; second high lady, Louise Bosman' lone hands, Olive Bolt; low lady Eileen Miller; high man, Ross Taylor; second high man, Harvey Edgar; lone hands, Gordon Bosman; low man, Garner Nicholson. There will be euchre again on Wednesday, May 27 at 8 p.m. Presbytery Huron Perth hosted this event. The senior choir sang / Have a Friend accompanied by Elizabeth Procter on the piano. Karen Hallahan and Becky Logan were in charge of nursery. Twelve children gathered in the front pew for story time. Cathy Walker, with a doll named Barney, referred to Barnabus and shared a story of love. George Procter was in charge of the sermon which related to "The Other Barney". her training. She analyzed the handwriting of three people present, showing character traits displayed by the way letters were made. The minutes of the previous meeting, financial statement and correspondence were read by Nancy Jardin. A certificate of recognition for the contribution to 4-H clubs was received. A letter containing the Baby Literacy Program of the Avon Maitland School board was read and plans were made to attend There were nine tables of shoot in play on Friday, May 22 in the Belgrave Community Centre. Winners were: high lady, Mary Taylor; second high lady, Nell Johnston; most shoots, Lois Chamney; low lady, Alice Nicholson; high man, Marj Coultes; second high man, Ross Taylor; most shoots, Gordon Bosman; low man, Agnes Gaunt. This was the last shoot party until fall. Ashley Irwin of Ashfield Twp. spent the holiday weekend with her grandmother Betty Irwin. Bob and Jane Grasby and Mary Johnston of Ilderton spent a week with Mr. and Mrs. Michael Hobgood and Zachary at Mission, TX. They celebrated Zachary's first birthday. Ross and Barbara Anderson spent the holiday weekend at Peterborough with Doreen and Rob Roy and girls. Jim and Irene Lamont visited last Sunday With Dale and Colleen Lamont in London and attended an antique car show. Curtis Knight spent the holiday weekend at Grand Bend with Jeremy and Justin Campbell. Marc Alexander and friend also visited over the weekend. On Tuesday, June 2 the Evening Unit of UCW will hold its meeting at the home of Lorna Cook at 8 p.m. with the roll call being something from the wish list for Camp Menesetung. Edgar relatives celebrated holiday weekend at the home of Harvey, Audrey and Don Edgar, RR 4, Wingham. This was also the occasion of Harvey's birthday on May 24. Relatives came from Petrolia, Brigden, Holmesville, Tavi'stock, Goderich, Lucknow, Wingham, Aylmer, Blyth, Barrie, London and Belgrave; . Margaret Wide and daughter Kimberly of Hamilton visited last week at the home of Garner and Alice Nicholson. Visiting at the home of Betty Irwin Sunday afternoon were Colleen Irwin, Adam, Abbey, and Alex of Port Carling. Sandra Mayberry of Londesboro visited for a couple of days with her mother Beth Procter, helping after Beth's recent fall. Don Coultes of Brandon, MB spent the weekend with his sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Campbell and family. He also visited other relatives in the area. NOTICE This October the Belgrave Community will be celebrating the 50th Fowl Supper in Belgrave. In conjunction with the Fowl Supper the Belgrave Centre Board is hoping to have a kick- off celebration.
