Though organized programs are offered only in the spring, fall and winter, the centre is open year- round for visitors to enjoy the walking trails and river, says Buck. It is through the support of the foundation that the Nature Centre has been able to continue operation. The anniversary dinner and auc- tion will provide an evening of entertainment with live and silent auctions, a grand prize raffle, door prizes and balloon raffle, says MCF Chair George Wicke. Auction items may be viewed during the cocktail hour, beginning at 6 p.m. A string quartet will add to the atmosphere. Dinner will be served at 7 p.m. Hoping for a very special event for the anniversary, Wicke says the foundation would like to improve on the more than 280 who attended last year. "In the past, we have received donations for the auction from all over the watershed," he says. "The support is absolutely tremendous. I think people recognize the Nature Centre as a real community resource." With over 175 articles donated for auction last year, Wicke says there is already some unique items for this event. However, the goal was disallowed because Kernighan was released early and still had 21 seconds to serve. Loosen up those ties, relax ... and let the show "Fiddle and Step" get those toes a tappin'. This fiddle and dance party is happening at the Wingham Town Hall Heritage Theatre, Sunday, April 5 at 2 p.m. and Thursday, April 9 at 10:30 a.m. The 2:00 p.m. show is sold out. Reigning Canadian fiddle champion, Scott Woods, who hails from Fergus, will be one of the special guests on this show. He will be offering his fine fiddle tunes, along with his novelty act ... and maybe even some dancing thrown in. Tom Leadbeater is no stranger to the Wingham Heritage Theatre Stage. He has been part of the "Spirit of Nova Scotia" show and was also featured on last year's "Maritime Magic". Originally from Cape Breton Island, Leadbeater's voice has taken him to new heights. His new CD is Plans for the future development of Blyth were brought before Blyth council, March 17, when Keith Roulston and Brock Vodden pre- sented a proposal for community betterment. Along with Luanne Taylor and Jeannette McNeil, Vodden and Roulston have begun to develop a framework for discussion to allow businesspeople, politicians and res- idents input into the future of the community as a whole, not just the village itself. Roulston told council that with the province's mandate to down- Songs of Home. As long as they've known each other, the "McMichael Sisters" have enjoyed dancing together ... that would be most of their life. Affectionately known as Canada's Stepdancing Sweethearts, their love of fiddle music has taken them across Canada and into the U.S. performing at many fairs, concerts and fiddle contests, from Tommy Hunter — to a raft on the Elora Gorge. Tyler and Lindsay Beckett, two special fiddlers are also joining the group at the theatre. This brother and sister team are from the Owen Sound area and have been successful at many competitions during the summer months. Double Trouble consists of Tiffany and Brittany Wall both eight, Alicia Donaldson, eight and Devan Ballagh, seven. This little dance group from Teeswater has been performing for two years at many seniors' homes and concerts. Along with the Primetime load and amalgamate, it is up to the communities to ensure the contin- ued existence of Blyth.
