INTERIM TAXES DUE
The Interim taxes for the Village of Brussels
are due on Thursday, March 26, 1998.
Payment may be made at the Municipal Office
or through CIBC telephone banking. Interest at
1 1/4% per month or any part thereof shall be
charged after the due date. Please note that people who have
acquired properties and have not received a tax bill should
contact the Municipal Office. Failure to receive a tax bill does not
relieve a taxpayer from responsibility for payment of taxes, nor
from penalty for late payment.

Seniors plan trip to theatre
Thirty-three diners attended the
March 12 Dining for Seniors at the
Brussels United Church. Leah
Vollrath and Joan van der Meer,
co-ordinators welcomed all present.
The meeting room was decorated
for St. Patrick's Day with lots of
green and shamrocks as well as
beautiful spring table decorations
by Ruth Sauve. Alice Brothers and
Mary Bryans entertained with ducts
before and after the meal. Two new
diners to our program, Viola
Kirkby and Irma Brighton, were
introduced.
Leah announced about a trip to
the Blyth Theatre. Those interested
in attending were asked to make a
choice of plays.
After a wonderful dinner, -they
celebrated the fifth anniversary of
Dining for Seniors in Brussels with
a piece of Millie's special cake.
The draws were made for the
50/50 with Alice Brothers winning
and door prizes of a mug going to
Myrtle Vodden and a Shamrock
plant going to Edna Evers.
Cards were signed for Kate
Wilson who is ill and for Jane
DeVries on the loss of her
daughter.
Joan spoke on several programs
offered by Town and Country
Support Services, one being the
Home Maintenance Program for
seasonal and heavy cleaning and
yard clean up.
She also spoke on a new program
being initiated beginning April 23.
This is the Foot Care and Blood
Pressure Program. The charge for
foot care is $10 and there is no
charge for having blood pressure
taken. Appointments are necessary,
so call Town and Country, 357-
3222 if interested.
