PAGE 23. By Janice Becker Citizen staff Though a familiar face in Blyth during the Christmas season, world-renown pianist Frank Mills returns, March 7, for a spring per- formance of his regular concert. This year, Mills brings music from his latest CD as well as old favourites. "I look forward to coming back to Blyth," he said in a phone inter- view from his home in the Bahamas. "It is a charming area." Mills latest release is a compila- tion of Canadian songs, showcasing the varying styles from across the country. "Canadian music is culturally rich," he said. "It is a wonderful delight." The selection includes tunes from Stompirf Tom Connors and reels from the east coast to melodies from central Canada and the west. With a similarity in his works, Mills said he was born with a style. "It is the essence which gets down to your soul. Though the style is recognizable, the content will change." Aside from his classic music, Mills entertains the audience with tales and jokes. "I am not there to tell them any- thing, but to make them happy." Mills has been touring the province since Feb. 27 and will make his last stop in Newmarket, March 11. After the tour he plans to take some time off from touring and recording, as he has put together four CDs in two years. He will be enjoying his hobby of playing the organ, sailing and his sugar house in Vermont. For Mills, life is good. "When you feel good about life, you feel good about your concert."
