HENRY MILLAR RICHMOND
Henry ''Millar" Richmond of
Blyth, passed away at home, Feb.
25, 1998. He was 84.
Born in Morris Twp., he farmed
there until retiring to Blyth in 1966.
He was a member of Blyth United
Church where he was active as an
elder and sitting on session.
He and wife Ella (Brown) Rich-
mond (deceased), were caretakers
of the church at one time.
They were involved in communi-
ty activities such as Blyth Seniors
and Blyth Lawnbowling Club.
Mr. Richmond was the dear
father of Bruce and Ula Richmond
and Keith and Olwen Richmond,
all of Blyth and loving grandfather
of seven grandchildren and 10
great-grandchildren.
He was the dear brother of Jessie
France of Wingham and Stella
Worden of Seaforth.
Mr. Richmond was predeceased
by one grandson, Gary Richmond
(1997) and two sisters, Alberta
Montgomery and Annie Craig.
The funeral service was held at
Beattie-Falconer Funeral Home,
Tasker Chapel, Feb. 28. Rev.
Stephen Huntley officiated.
Pallbearers were Bodie Craig,
John Hesselwood, John Nesbitt,
John Nixon, Bob Scott and Jim
Wilson.
Grandsons Darren Richmond and
Chris Stewart bore the floral trib-
utes.
WILLIAM HENRY
McPHERSON
William McPherson, of
McKillop Township passed away at
Seaforth Community Hospital on
Wednesday, Feb. 18, 1998. He was
86.
He was the dear brother of Hugh
McPherson and his wife Bernice of
RR 5, Seaforth, Hazel and her
husband George Cutler of Clinton,
Evelyn and her husband Alex Frey,
of Hastings. He is also survived by
his brother-in-law, Fred Roy of
Lake Havasu City, Arizona and
several nieces and nephews.
William was predeceased by his
parents, Samuel and Annie
(Weiben) McPherson and one
sister, Elda Roy, (Feb. 2, 1998).
Family received friends at the
Whitney-Ribey Funeral Home,
Seaforth on Thursday from 2 - 4
and 7 - 9 p.m. The funeral service
was held at the funeral home on
Friday, Feb. 20 at 3:30 p.m. Rev.
Jane Kuepfer and Mr. George
Patterson officiated.
Pallbearers were Jeff McPherson,
Greg McPherson, Murray Cutler,
Jeremy Somerville, Don Frey and
Duane Kathan. Interment is at
Brussels Cemetery.
ANNE ARMSTRONG
Anne Armstrong of Fordwich
passed away, Feb. 25, 1998, at the
Fordwich Village Nursing Home.
She was 82.
She was the beloved wife of the
late Nelson Armstrong and dear
sister of Ruth Brears of Listowel
and Robert (Bob) Cowan of Harris-
ton.
Mrs. Armstrong was predeceased
by sisters, Roberta Hall and Mar-
garet Peel and brother, John
Cowan.
She will be remembered by sev-
eral nieces and nephews.
The funeral service was held Fri-
day, Feb. 27, at Betts Visitation
Centre, Gorrie.
Spring interment will be at Ford-
wich Cemetery.

SYDNEY LEGGETT
Sydney Leggett of Huronview,
and formerly of Goderich passed
away on Feb. 28, 1998 at Seaforth.
He was 87.
Born in Ipswich, Eng. on May
23, 1910, Mr. Leggett was the son
of the late Herbert and Alberta
Mary (Donne) Leggett. He was an
employee of the Clinton Air Force
Base and a sailor of Great Lakes.
A member of Trinity Anglican
Church, Blyth, Mr. Leggett was the
dear uncle of Laura May Chamney
of Auburn, June Patterson of Blyth,
Edgar Leatherland of Guelph,
Marie Millian of RR5, Goderich
and Joyce Unruh.
Two sister, Lillian Leatherland
and Winnifred Leggett predeceased
him.
By request there was no funeral
home visitation or funeral service.
A private family graveside service
will be held at Ball's Cemetery,
Hullett Twp. Rev. Nancy Beale
will officiate.
Funeral arrangements were
entrusted to the Beattie-Falconer
Funeral Home, Clinton.
MURDIE SOUCH
Murdie Souch of Petrolia passed
away at London Health Sciences
Centre, Westminister campus, on
Thursday, Feb. 19, 1998. He was
55.
Mr. Souch was the dear father of
Marty of Petrolia and Darcy and
Kim and Jason and his girlfriend
Jill, all of Goderich and the loved
grandfather of Nicholas. He was
the dear brother of Mildred and Jim
Golley and Leota and Bill King, all
of Wingham and Bill and Delores
Souch. and Murray and Joanne
Souch, all of Blyth.
Murdie Souch was predeceased
by his parents, Charles and Laura
Souch.
The family received friends at the
Needham-Jay Funeral Home,
Petrolia on Friday, Feb. 20, from 2
to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral
service was conducted at 11 a.m.
on Saturday, Feb. 21 with Pastor
Del Wells officiating. Interment in
Hillsdale Cemetery, Petrolia.
As expressions of sympathy,
memorial donations may be made
to the C.E.E. Hospital Foundation
or the Canadian Cancer Society.
RICHARD (DICK) DENNIS
Dick Dennis passed away at the
Royal Victoria Hospital, Barrie, on
Thursday, Feb. 19, 1998 in his 64th
year.
He was the beloved husband of
Margaret Dennis and loving father
of Dale and his wife Laurie, Earl,
Russell and Terri-Lynn. He was the
loved Poppy of Sarah.
Mr. Dennis was predeceased by
his parents Harvey and Berva
(Cardiff) Dennis.
Service was held Monday, Feb.
23 in Barrie. Spring interment will
be in Brussels Cemetery.

MCDONALD
Kenneth Andrew McDonald of
Walton passed away at the Seaforth
Community Hospital in his 70th
year on Saturday, Feb. 28, 1998.
He was the beloved husband of
the former Leona Stevens and
loving father of Neil McDonald of
Vancouver, B.C., Karen McDonald
of Calgary, AB and Rick and Jo-
Ann McDonald of Brussels. He
was the loved grandfather of
Michael and Kendra Ann Warwick,
both of Calgary and Lee Ann,
Kelly and Scott McDonald, all of
Brussels. He was the dear brother
of Mary and Murray Huether and
Don and Marilyn McDonald, all of
Brussels.
Mr. McDonald was predeceased
by his parents, Jim and Edna
McDonald.
He rested at the Betts Funeral
Home, Brussels from 2 - 4 and 7 -
9 p.m. Monday evening. Funeral
service was 2 p.m. Tuesday from
Duff s United Church, Walton.
Rev. James Murray officiated.
Pallbearers were Brian Huether,
Michael Warwick, Bill Shortreed,
John Huether, Phillip Blake and
Bruce McDonald.
Honorary bearers were Herb and
Mildred Traviss, Ron and Pauline
Bennett, Ian and Elva Wilbee, Ken
and Doris Fischer, Maxine Marks,
Watson Reid, Jim and Dona
Knight, Jean Bewley and her
daughters Brenda and Mary, Mary
Bryans and her daughter, Barbara,
Jim and Myrtle Speirs, Marjorie
Huether and Ross and Betty
Knight.

Warwick, Lee Ann, Kelly Ann and
Scott McDonald.
In remembrance donations to

Cancer Society or a charity of your

A memorial tree will be planted
at the Walton Ball Park in the
spring in memory of Ken
McDonald.
ALICE "ALBERTA" STEVENS
Alice "Alberta" Stevens of
Huronview and formerly of Blyth
and Walton died at Huronview on
Thursday, Feb. 26, 1998. She was
89.
Born in Londesboro on July 28,
1908, she was the daughter of the
late John and Agnes (Youngblut)
Nott. She was married to the late
Ernest Stevens who predeceased
her in 1994,
Mrs. Stevens was a homemaker
and a member of Duff's United
Church in Walton. She was an
honorary life member of the
Women's Institute.
Mrs. Stevens is survived by her
children, Leona and Ken
McDonald of Walton, Margaret
and Ken Rogerson of RR 5,
Clinton, Doris and Murray Crich of
Hanover and Robert and Margaret
Stevens of London. She was the
dear sister of Belle Roberton of
Seaforth. Mrs. Stevens was the
loving grandmother to nine
grandchildren and 14 great-
grandchildren.
She rested at the Beattie-Falconer
Funeral Home in Clinton where the
funeral service was held on
Sunday, March 1, with Rev. James
Murray of Duff's United Church in
Walton officiating.
Karen McDonald and Sandra
Welsh were the flower bearers.
Neil McDonald, Rick McDonald,
Murray Stevens, Paul Stevens, Ken
Ashton and Keith Pethick were the
pallbearers.
Interment will be in Clinton
Cemetery.
