The letter 7 was the letter of the
week in the Walton kindergarten
class. They made 'zingers' and cut
out zoo animals and put them in
cages (paper). David Bolton and
Courtney Campbell were chosen to
wear the kindness button.
The adventures of Spike the meal
worm continue on as once again the
little worm got away. This time
Spike decided he would stay loose
just a little bit longer. Once again
everyone stood still and searched
for him.
Mrs. Bennett noticed the wide
sleeves on Spike's owner and
trainer, and wondered if perhaps
Spike could possibly be doing the
old 'hiding up the sleeve' trick. Her
hunch payed off when she shook
the trainer's sleeve and out tumbled
a peeved 'Spike!' Caught once
again!
Will he ever get his freedom?
Mrs. Bennett also reported that
one third of her students were
absent from her class this past week
due to the flu.
The Grade 2/3s are doing animal
stories and making animal poster
projects.

Feb. 23 marked the initiation of
the Huron County Health Unit's
Heart Health Needs Assessment.
Within the next three weeks,
approximately 750 randomly
selected households in Huron
County will be contacted by
telephone and asked to participate
in the survey.
The questions cover risk factors
such as high fat diets, physical
inactivity and smoking. Partici-
pants will also be asked where they
would like to get Heart Health
information.
Results from this survey will be
used by the Huron Heart Health
Network in the development of
future heart health promotion
programs and services throughout
the county.

children about electrical safety.
They received activity booklets and
colouring books all about hydro
wire safety. He used his model
town, called "Hazard Hamlet" and
showed different dangerous
scenarios.
The Grade 3/4s were busy
presenting their speeches and
stories. By next Wednesday the
winners that will go on to the
Legion will be chosen. Jimmy
Raithby was the student chosen
from that class to wear the
'kindness button.
JoAnn McDonald and her son,
Scott, were greeters at Duff's
United Church on Feb. 22. The
pancake breakfast that was served
before church was well attended
with 50 people enjoying the
morning feast. Rev. James Murray
thanked the Sunday School
teachers and all who helped put it
together.
He pointed out the floral
arrangement that was set at the
front of the church as being in
memory of John McEwing, who
passed away this past week.
Rev. Murray announced that next
week begins the first Sunday of
Lent and communion will be
served. The sermon was about the
transfiguration and mountain top
experiences the disciples had when
they went up the mountain with
Jesus. "Every generation needs to
go through the same mountaintop
experience as Peter and the other
disciples, to see Jesus as if for the
first time, who he really, truly is ...
from the heart, touching our lives
in a very personal and direct way. the mountain, to see Jesus from the
May we help one another to climb
heart, and to have faith."

John Nesbit, right and Keith Richmond were grilling up
some delicious grub in Knechtels parking lot Saturday
afternoon. Proceeds from the barbecue went to Trinity
