1st ‘Night Before Christmas’ tale
'Twas the night before Jesus
came and all through the house, not
a creature was praying, not one in
the house.
Their Bibles were lain on the
shelf without care in hopes that
Jesus would not come there.
The children were dressing to
crawl into bed,
Not once ever kneeling or
bowing a head.
And Mom in her rocker with the
baby on her lap
Was watching the Late Show
while I took a nap.
When out of the East there arose
such a clatter
I sprang to my feet to sec what
was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a
flash
Tore open the shutters and threw
up the sash!
When what to my wondering
eyes should appear
But angels proclaiming that Jesus
was here.
With a light like the sun sending
forth a blight ray
I knew in a moment this must be
THE DAY!
The light of His face made me
cover my head
It was Jesus! returning just like
He said
And though I possessed worldly
wisdom and wealth,
I cried when I saw Him in spite
of myself.
In the Book of Life which He
held in His hand
Was written the name of every
saved man.
He spoke not a word as He
searched for my name
When He said "It's not here" my
head hung in shame.
The people whose names had
been written with love
He gathered to lake to His Father
above.
With those who were ready He
rose without a sound
While all the rest were left
standing around.
I fell to my knees, but it was too
late;
I had waited too long and thus
sealed my fate.
I stood and I cried as they rose
out of sight;
Oh, if only we had been ready
tonight.
In the words of this poem the
meaning is clear,
The coming of Jesus is drawing
near.
There's only one life and when
comes the last call
We'll find that the Bible was true
after all!

Auburn Silver Tops meet
At noon on Dec. 15 the Silver
Tops met at Auburn Hall for their
Christmas meeting. It was
wonderful to have a number of
former members with us. There
were 28 people present for this
special day.
Rev. Paul Ross offered grace and
everyone sat down to a delicious
roast beef dinner with all the
trimmings. There were numerous
salads and three choices for dessert.
Responsible for this feast was the
Carol singing followed the
sumptuous meal with Lois Haines
as pianist. Lois also played for
harmonica solos by Ernest Dumin.
Several members gave Christmas
readings and Margaret Hildebrand
continued on her granddaughter's
trip to China.
The guest speaker was Rev. Ross
who gave a Christmas story.
Everyone wished all a Merry
Christmas before leaving for home.
May peace and harmony
reign during this most
noteworthy season.
We’re always delighted to hear
from you.
Merry Christmas!

Learning the holly story
"I'd be the shiniest green,"
Wished once a sprig of holly,
"That e’er at Yule was seen,
And deck some banquet jolly!"
"I'd be the cheeriest red,"
Wished once the holly-berry,
"That e'er at board rich spread
Helped make the feasters merry!"
The life within them heard
Down dark and silent courses,
For each wish is a word
To those fair-hidden sources.
All Summer in the wood,
While they were riper growing,
The deep roots understood,
And helped without their knowing.
In a little market stall
At Yule the spring lay waiting,
For fine folk one and all
Passed by that open grating.
The Even of Christmas Day
It had been passed by many,
When one turned not away
And bought it for a penny.
Hers was a home of care
Which not a wreath made jolly;
The only Christmas there
Was that sweet sprig of holly.
"Oh, this is better far
Than banquet!" thought the berry;
The leaves glowed like a star
And made that cottage merry!

Luke I on the angel speaking to
Mary and telling her that she would
bear the Son of God. He continued
with The Magnificent spoken by
Mary on the strength of God.
Rev. Ross’s sermon was “A
Christmas Letter”. She would have
a child and name Him Jesus which
she did and honoured God’s name.
Mary was blessed because she
believed and followed Him.
Offering was received and

HOSPITAL APPLAUDED
The results of the Hospital Report 99 released Wednesday,
December 15, 1999, were eagerly anticipated by hospitals
throughout Ontario. The Huron Perth Hospitals Partnership “
scored an excellent grade in all areas and it was especially
gratifying to be awarded an above average score in patient
satisfaction.
The Hospital Report Card was developed by researchers
the University of Toronto and funded by the Ontario H< ,
Association. It committed hospitals to fully disclose
performance information in the four areas of Clinical
patients and their families. As Kerry Blagrave, Chair of the
Joint Executive Committee, stated "One of the advantages of
participating in this study is that it flags where there are
opportunities for performance improvement."
The past few years have been a time of tremendous
upheaval and profound change in the health care sector.
Bonnie Adamson, C.E.O, of the Partnership says that "We can
attribute the positive outcome to our hospital staff, medical
staff and health care volunteers."
We, at C.P.H., are not only pleased with the results of the
study, we are delighted with the recent praise heaped upon
the Huron Perth Hospitals Partnership by Duncan Sinclair,
Lead Commissioner of the Health Services Restructuring
Commission. At the O.H.A. Convention in Toronto, he said
"The hospitals in Huron-Perth constitute an excellent example
...........................................................................of what people and institutions can do to make caring
connections when they commit themselves to work together
and do so."
To further enhance the strength of our community
healthcare delivery, we have recently welcomed to Clinton a
new family physician, Dr. Lisa Yang, who is interested in
developing an obstetrical practice as well as all areas of
family practice.
The lights are brighter this year as we enter the new
millennium full of hope and pride for C.P.H. Sincere
