Judges pick best decorations
The judges have made their deci
sion and the unanimous choice for
this year’s best decorated business
in Brussels is Accent on Eclec-
tiques, owned by Antoine Ouellet.
The committee describes the
effort as a treat driving by, from
across the street or with your nose
pressed to the window. One judge
noted that Ouellet had captured the
essence of travelling back through
the century.
Top marks were also given for
the lovely co-ordinated main street.
This year's pick for best resi
dence went to Bob and Rene Rich
mond of Ellen Street. The
comments suggested a tastefully
elegant effort, not overdone, but
making a dramatic statement. The
judges said to take note of the
“stunning visual effect of the tree in
the sun-room at the back of the
house.”
A close second was the home of
John and Merle Cousins, Turnberry
Street. Points were given for the
colour scheme which was carried
around the sides to the rear of the
house* The Christmas tree, perfect
ly framed by the draperies in the
large front picture window, also
tied in with the colour scheme.
Honourable mention went to
Brian and Isabel White of Mill
Street. The judges liked the front
porch and the cute ideas that creat
ed a welcoming atmosphere. Kudos
as well for not forgetting the
garage.

A delightful afternoon to
celebrate the Year of the Senior

They enjoyed entertainment by the

various Scottish dances. The

delighted the crowd singing some
beautiful Christmas songs. She led

provided a lovely snack. Donald

were great hostesses for the
afternoon, a winning combination
