Book Club A candlelight tree lighting ceremony was held Thursday, Dec. 2 at Belgrave Heritage Park with program and carols led by Lila Procter and Sandra Dorsch. Belgrave Sparks, Brownies, Guides and Pathfinders participated for an audience of many community members. Thanks to the Belgrave Community Club for supplying treats after the carol-sing. Thanks also for donations to North Huron Food Share. Van Camps greet at Knox United Glen and Verlaine Van Camp greeted worshippers at Knox United Church on Sunday, Nov. 28. Melissa Whitmore, the guest speaker welcomed the congregation. Don, Marlene, Carl and Ellen Procter lit the Advent candle. The senior choir sang Great and Marvelous accompanied by Elizabeth Procter. The Old Testament reading was from Romans 12: 9 - 12; Romans 15:13 and Ephesians 1: 15-19. The children’s story centred around the first Sunday of Advent. Mabel’s Moms met at their regular time on Wednesday, Dec. 1 Those who attended were: Crystal Agombar, Zachary, Nicholas and Curtis Weber; Donna Raynard, Curtis and Craig; Lila Procter and Jessica; Kim Higgins, Ashley, Shelby and Jarrod Logan. They discussed “Book Fairs”. Dinner guests with Mrs. Mabel Wheeler on Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Keys, Varna, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Hill, Varna, Mrs. Mildred McAdam, Clinton and Mr. Jim Coultes, Wingham. God so loved the World by Helen Steiner Rice was the contemporary reading. The sermon was “What Have you waited for in Your Life?” Michelle Nixon and Melanie Pletch looked after the nursery. Don Procter and Rebecca Purdon took up the offering. The Sunday School Christmas Concert will be held Friday, Dec. 17 at 7 p.m. in the Women’s Institute Hall.
