Cook speaks at Knox The Belgrave Community Club travelled to Dungannon on Saturday, Oct. 23 to join other clubs for a Fun Day. ♦ The enjoyable afternoon consisted of many unusual numbers and readings. The Dungannon Club handed out some door prizes and dancing followed. Mabel’s Moms held their regular meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 20. Those who attended were Kim Higgins, Ashley and Shelby, Lila Clubs host Susan Robinson greeted worshippers at Knox United Church on Sunday, Oct. 24; Joyce Vincent ushered. The guest preacher was Rev. Alfred Cook. The senior .choir sang We Need You Lord, accompanied by Elizabeth Procter. The Old Testament reading was taken from Genesis 17: 1-8. Welcomed into the community of faith through the sacrament of baptism was Sydney Elaina, daughter of Heather and Steven Michie. The scripture lesson was taken from Ephesians 4: 4-6 and the gospel lesson from Matthew 19: 13-15. The sermon was entitled Why Crime of the Week On Oct. 1 between 12:20 p.m. and 2:14 p.m. a daylight break and enter occurred at Part Lot 24, Cone. 4 of Tuckersmith Twp., RR3, Kippen, at the home of John McLachlan. Entry was gained through a door to the garage, then from the garage to the kitchen area. A Halloween craft was demonstrated by Nancy Jardin and greeting cards made using rubber stamps were demonstrated by Marjorie Duizer of Londesboro. Everyone enjoyed making a craft under the leadership of these two ladies. They were thanked by Norma Moore.
