They took the calf outside and

and shown.
Sara introduced her sheltie,
Spike. She demonstrated combing
and members reviewed nail
trimming as well.
The meeting continued with a

THANK YOU
A Note from Betty
Well, I was in trouble with Margaret Kai last week after the paper hit the
street. It seems that Crystal McLellan passed her Grade 8 piano with
excellent marks and that fact got missed. Oops!
It’s good to see Phyllis Beacom has returned home from her Whitby visit
with her daughter Hope and family.
Kailey and Wyatt had the folk in the United Church paying attention on
Sunday. Lots of family and friends attended their baptism helping Paul and
Janice Machan celebrate this ceremony for Wyatt, while Grandpa Doug and
Grandma Florence smiled on. Kailey kept Gail and Greg alert as she gave
the Wheeler gaze to the congregation. Grandpa Dave didn’t get much of a
chance to cuddle Kailey as Grandma Rosemary and Great-Grandma Betty
Gowing kept her in their section of the pew very smoothly. Experience I
think. It was a beautiful celebration with beautiful babies.
The silent auction at the United Church was a roaring success thanks to
the engineering and hard work of Rene Richmond, Grace Jutzi, Julie
Harrison and Co. The items were terrific and the bidders were generous.
Hope you got what you were after.
This is Rev. Chris’s last week with our community so try to see her and
wish her well in her new life in Montreal. Then go to the church lawn and
check out the tree stump tortoise she has commissioned as a gift to our
community. Neat gift - thanks Chris!
Get your Halloween outfits ready for dancing or parties or trick or
treating. Join the fun but watch for the witches.
Bje now,
Betty G.
