Second place was captured by
Eileen and Marie with 73 points

Tommy Hunter at The Centre
Tommy Hunter and the Travelin'
Men will be in concert at The
Centre In The Square, Kitchener on
Thursday, Feb. 4 at 8 p.m.
Not long ago, Canadian-
television unified east and west and
everyone in between with the likes
of The Don Messer Show,
Singalong Jubilee, Our Pet,
Juliette, Country Hoedown, Front
Page Challenge and the long-time
favourite The Tommy Hunter Show.
There is no doubt about it,
Tommy Hunter made television
history. His 27 consecutive year
run brought more songs, more
stars, more memories and more
viewers than any other Canadian

show. The Tommy Hunter Show
was to Canada what the Grand Ole
Opry is to the United States ... the
pillar of country music.
Put Hunter in front of an
audience of strangers, and even the
most stony-faced stoics will soon
be clapping and singing along with
his music. With his timeless appeal,
Hunter is an entertainer with a long
history of involving people in his
brand of country music. He's had
them singing along on trains and in
the finest theatres, and he's
generated the same response with
TV audiences and even in people's
living rooms.

his annual, mammoth winter tour,
"Imagining Ourselves Richly was
read followed by a prayer. A poem,
"Take Time for 10 Things" was

Past was sung followed by the
benediction.
The business part of the meeting
was turned over to the new
president, Alice Marks. She opened
this part of the meeting with a verse
about snow. Secretary Leona
Armstrong read the minutes of the
December meeting followed by the
treasurer Jeanne Ireland giving her

The Robbie Bums Dance hosted
by the Brussels Pipe Band was a
sold out affair. The tables and
dance floor were full to enjoy the
music of Beechwood. The pipe
band entertained twice during the
evening and were thoroughly
enjoyed by all.
We should all appreciate these
dedicated members of the pipe
band who give their time and talent
to perform in sometimes less than
ideal weather to make our Branch
and village proud.
A good crowd also attended the
singles dance Sunday night at the
branch.
entitled "At Home Again", will
transform 37 theatres across the
country into one big comfortable
living room.
Hunter's live stage show of today
is his personal answer to the fans
who still demand a wholesome
family show reflecting the same
qualities as did his television
program. The music, the laughs, the
songs, the stories continue to put
smiles on the faces of fans who
remain 100 per cent loyal to their
favourite Canadian.
Tickets are $24.50 and $28.50.

volleyball series was team one, the

As of the new year we are
starting algebra and using
unknowns, variables, and solving
problems algebraically. Literature
finds us reading and reporting on
novels we've read. We will also do
an oral presentation for one of these
novels as well.
History requires us to research
different topics for the unit
"Opening the West". We are
working with a partner -
researching for our presentation
which is to be approximately 1/2
hour long, accompanied by a class
handout as well.
The geography topic is
"Manufacturing" and in science we
are starting the topic, Water - in the
Earth systems unit.
