They were thrilled and we spoke for hours. It was really quite wonderful." The wedding was held on a day off for Stratford actors, Monday, September 15, 1986. The couple was married at The Church Rest- aurant by the father of fellow actor Geraint Wyn Davies. "It was absol- utely wonderful," remembers Mar- ion. "He had this delightful, rolling Couple married in Church with a difference Welsh accent and the ceremony included ancient Welsh symbols, an exchange of roses and wine glasses and the lighting of candles. About 35-40 people attended, including members of the company. Festival actor Co1m Feore was best man and the bride's younger sister Jennifer, flew in from Victoria B.C. to be her bridesmaid. Still working, the newlyweds only had one night for a honeymoon so had decided to spend it at Benmiller Inn, near Goderich. "When we arrived there we discovered that Colm had secretly driven out that day and paid for the room. There was champagne waiting for us as well. It was lovely, but brief. The next day we were back to work." Since their marriage Scott and Marion had been trying desperately to work together as much as possible. Just after their marriage Scott went to New York, while Marion took a job in Edmonton. "I saw him at Christmas, but we were apart for four months, almost as long as we had courted. When he came out at Christmas we looked at each other and realized we each had so much to learn about the other one. Since then we have decided to make a real commitment to our- selves and to this marriage." This past summer while Scott worked in Stratford, Marion was a member of the Blyth Festival theatre company just an hour away. They recently completed a stint together at the Indiana Repertoire Company. The last show Marion appeared in was directed by Scott, which she said, added another interesting aspect to the relationship. Due to an unfortu- nate accident he will also be directing her in her next project. "A lot of people in the industry have begun to think of actors differently and now promote couples working together," she said. The couple has also recently completed a script for a musical "Gun Metal Blues", based on Raymond Chandler's film noire.
