Morris Township
Walton 887-6697
Morris Twp. will celebrate, not
only its 140th anniversary this
weekend, but also remember a for-
mer resident whose son became
world-famous.
Elias Disney, father of Walt Dis-
ney, was born on the first line of
the township, on February 6, 1859
to Kepple and Mary (Richardson)
Disney, who had moved to Blue-
vale, Morris Twp,. from
Holmesville, three years earlier.
Kepple Disney had moved to the
area with his brother-in-law, Peter
Cantelon, each taking property
along the Maitland River in Blue-
vale. The Disney farm was located
at Lot 27 and 28, Conc. 1, Morris
Twp.
The couple had 11 children, all
raised "on a farin, a pure and
wholesome atmosphere, physically
and morally" writes Elias Disney,
