fires up fundraiser
Hamburgers will be cooking and
cola will be on ice when the Huron
County Foster Parents Association
hosts its fifth annual Burger Bash.
The barbecue will be set up at
Zehrs Plaza, Goderich, July 18 to
20. Any donation will buy patrons
a burger and pop.
The funds raised will go towards
training foster parents, who work
directly with the children of Huron
County.
There are presently 62 foster
families in the county, caring for 58
children. To allow all factors to be
considered when placing children,
the association needs families in
every area of the county with a
variety of skills and resources to
offer. The Burger Bash enables
Foster Parents Association to pro-
vide these families.
Corps awards
Brussels Legion Army Cadet Corps held their annual review, June 8, performing training
demonstrations and participating in a march past and inspection. With the review came
awards to outstanding cadets. Receiving recognition were, from left: Warrant Officer Mike
Copper, who earned Warrant Officer of the Year; Cadet Dave Dietz for most improved;
Sergeant Derek Hunt captured the Junior NCO award and Cadet Willie Adams received the
award for best cadet.
