The Brussels team showed off their skating and passing skills by defeating the Clinton team 11-3. Matt White started off the scoring on a pass from defenseman, Mitch Blake. Chris Corbett netted one on a pass from Christopher Jutzi and Cory Chapman. Later in the first period, Corbett scored again on a pass from Chapman and Jutzi. White finished the period with a goal on a pass from Greg Bowers and Adam McClure. In the second period, Clinton managed to get one goal, then Chapman on a pass from Corbett and Jutzi, Corbett on a pass from Chapman and Blake dominated before Clinton could answer with another goal. The other forward line then netted a couple of points. McClure, on a beautiful pass from White, poked it between the goalies pads and Bowers, on a pass from White and McClure finished off the second period. Corbett got a quick start on the third period on a pass from Jutzi and Chapman. White scored on a pass from Bowers and McClure, then McClure finished off the scoring for Brussels on a pass from Bowers and White. Clinton finished up the scoring of the game on a breakaway. Excellent goaltending was shared by Kyle Gibson and Andrew McDonald. Game two of the weekend was held in Hensail on Saturday. The first period of the game started quietly with no goals. Gibson made a great save on lone shot made on him. Corbett started off the scoring for Brussels in the second period by sliding one past the surprised goaltender. White scored the second goal on a pass from Chapman. McClure snuck one past on passes from the other forwards on his line. Hensail managed to score one against Brussels netminder, McDonald and in the last few seconds White scored once again on a breakaway. In the third period, McClure put it between the pipes on a pass from White. Jutzi then got in on the action, scoring on a pass from defenseman Adam Corbett. White once again passed it to McClure who scored another for Brussels. White scored once again to count toward his hattrick. Chapman scored to add one more on a pass from Jutzi. Corbett scored the last Brussels goal for his hattrick, on a pass from defenseman Chapman. Hensail scored in the last few seconds of the game on a breakaway. The final score was 10-2 for Brussels. Taking over the Bulls until the position can be filled is the assistant Jason Baier and Assistant Manager Steve Coulter. They are wished luck until a replacement can be found. Ron is thanked for his dedication and is wished the best. 36 play euchre Last Friday, 36 players attended the euchre party at the Community Centre. Winners were: 50/50, Lloyd Smith; high lady, Iola Subject; high man, Kenneth Crawford; low lady, Isabelle Bremner; low man, Ross Stephenson; most lone hands, Shirley Verstoep; travelling lone hands, Marie Stute; tally cards, Edna McLellan, Isabelle Gray, Iona McLean, Mary Huether. The final card party until the New Year will be Dec. 5 at which time the raffle draw and a door prize will take place. Please watch Coming Events for the euchre party notice in January. Raffle tickets will be on sale at Brussels IGA entrance during the coming week. Several children attended the Kids' Craft Club and enjoyed making Christmas ornaments. (2) The board and each of its member officers and employees shall comply with the orders, directions and decision of the Minister in any matter relating to the administration of the affairs of the board and any such person who knowingly fails to comply with any such order, direction or decision, or who, as a member of the board, votes contrary to such an order, direction or decision is guilty of an offence. (3) If a board that is subject to an order made under subsection 257.31(2) or (3) applies any of its funds otherwise than as ordered or authorized by the Minister, the members of the board who voted for the application are: a) jointly and severally liable for the amount so applied, which amount may be recovered in a court of competent jurisdiction; and b) disqualified for five years from holding any office for which elections are held under the Municipal Election Action, 1996 or under this Act.
