The news from ondesboro [Complied by June Fothergill Phone 523-4360 Thanksgiving, topic at meeting The October meeting of Londesboro UCW was held at the church at 8 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 20. The meeting was opened with The Purpose. The worship service People A wedding reception was held at the Legion in Clinton Saturday night. Guests of honour were Ken Brown and his bride the former Deanna Lyon. A large crowd enjoyed the evening. Ted and June Fothergill and Eric and Heather Maddeford of London enjoyed a family gathering at the Wingham Armouries on Sunday. On Wednesday, Oct. 22 several members of Londesboro Happy Gang Seniors attended dinner and the October meeting of Blyth Swinging Seniors. An enjoyable time was held by all. was conducted by Liz Lawson and Cheryl Trewartha. The hymn Now Thank We All Our God was sung. The scripture was read by Reta Kelland. Shf> also gave readings on Thanksgiving and "Reasons for Leaving". Liz Lawson and Cheryl Trewartha told about their Westminster weekend in June. They had Bible verses and questions for members to answer. This was very interesting. Liz told about the music workshop. Members sang On Eagle's Wings. She closed with a Thanksgiving prayer. Reta Kelland gave the treasurer's report. Helen Lee gave the minutes of the September meeting. Correspondence was read from Camp Menesetung, Sheila Evans of London. Lunch was served by Kitt MacGregor and Mary Peel. Rev. Snibur guest speaker Greeter at church on Sunday, Oct. 26 was Jack Lee. Usher was Larry Hoggart. This was Londesboro's anniversary Sunday.- The guest speaker was Rev. David Snihur of Woodstock, former pastor at Londesboro from 1893 to 1990. The junior and senior choirs sang.
