D. Hoskin gives Majestic WI creative ideas
Seventeen Majestic WI members
were present for the October
meeting held on Wednesday, Oct.
15 at 1:30 p.m.
Everyone was welcomed by
President Edna McLellan.
Following the reading of a poem,
Kathy Bridge then read the minutes
of the September meeting. The

colour, acid-free paper behind
them, write about what was
happening in the photo at the time
and keep them in a safe place.
Add to the lay-out by cropping
pictures with scalloped edges or
even different shapes, example
circles, ovals.
The convenor thanked her for her
time and information.

historical site within driving

Brussels.
Correspondence was read.

Grade 3 class studies spiders
By Chrissy Mason
Brussels Public School was very
busy last week. Everyone was still
stuffed with turkey from the long
weekend.
Mrs. Clark's Grade 3 class has
been busy creating big spiders,
little spiders, and creepy spiders
using construction paper, egg
cartons, and folding techniques.
They read a story about Anansi, a
lovable, crafty spider and are
drawing and labelling the
characters in the story and
summarizing the problem.
Mrs. Clark is reading Charlotte's
Web to the class, in preparation for
the trip to the Blyth Festival
Theatre to see the play.
In Math, the Grade 3s have been
using base 10 blocks to learn about
regrouping in a game called Race
For A Float.
Mrs. MacDonald's Grade 4 class
is looking forward to Read - In
Week, next week. Over seven
parents have signed up, and they
also have a few special guests.
Salut! Mr. Teall's class has been
working hard in French this week
creating animal puppets out of
paper bags and construction paper.
They are writing mini French plays
and dialogues. Nicki Mason says
that the puppets are fun. She is
making a mouse. Brent Wheeler
thinks that they are fun and
interesting to make.
Mrs. Regier's Grade 7/8 class has
started a new unit called Changes.
They are learning about friendship

outlet for the water.
It was suggested by Councillor
Ralph Watson that Jim Ryan be
asked to look at the situation.
Council agreed that Ryan would
be contacted for estimates for an
open ditch on the north side of
George Street, from Tumberry to
the first lot in the industrial park.
All locates were to be obtained
prior to the estimates.
