From the new four-door design
of the Dodge Ram Quad Cab to the
roomy Durango and sleek Intrepid,
the Chrysler Corporation has
brought three new models onto the
market for 1998.
The new design for the Ram
Quad Cab allows for easier access
with two cargo doors. The unique
styling has allowed a large opening
when both doors are ajar as there is
no frame through the centre to hin
der movement. Accommodating up
to six passengers, the front bench
slits 40/20/40 and the rear bench
also folds down.
"This is the first time for four
doors," said Larry Rice of Brussels
Motors.
The redesign continues inside
with dual airbags and a new steer
ing. The Ram has numerous
options available with Magnum
engines from 5.2 litre to 5.9, V8 or
the 300 hp., V10. A Cummins
Turbo Diesel offers greater torque
and power.
The Durango 4x4 sports utility,
with increased room, power and
capability, can seat eight comfort
ably.
From the more modest 3.9 litre
Magnum V6 with 175 hp., the
Durango can be equipped to haul
7,000 lbs. with the 5.9 litre, V8.
The Durango is built on a Dakota
base, Rice said. "It is similar to the
Jeep Cherokee Line."
Standard features on the base

conditioning, rear ABS brakes,
Honda Accord has sleek body lines
For Honda dealers and prospec
tive buyers, the biggest change for
1998 is the new body style of the
Accord.
"The Accord is the traditional
mid-size car," said Paul Hom, sales
manager of Car City Honda in Lis-
towel.
Aside from the smoother lines,
Hom said the Accord has the low
est emissions for Canadian models.
"It is the first in Canada to meet
California standards for emissions."
Some standard and optional fea
tures available for the Accord are
ABS, CFC-free air conditioning,
cruise control, dual airbags,
AM/FM stereo with CD player,
power mirrors, steering, windows
and door locks, AM/FM stereo cas
sette, keyless remote entry with
panic alarm, speed control, tilt
steering wheel and forged alu
minum wheels.
It is another option for those fam
ilies who love spending the week
ends together off-roading.
For those seeking luxury and
power moonroof, power adjustable
seats, leather interior and more.
The two-door coupe has Honda's
new VTEC engine which provides
power with fuel efficiency. The LX
and EX models have 150 horse
power and five-speed transmission.
The top end EX with V6 engine has
200 horsepower and four-speed
automatic.
The four-door sedan has
increased room and power while
enhancing the styling and upgrad
ing standard equipment.
The Accord seats five adults
comfortably with increased head
and leg room.
Cargo space has been boosted

Intrepid and Concorde offer a
sleek, sophisticated look, said Rice.
"They have a more modem look,
smaller engine with more power,
resulting in better fuel efficiency."

Top of the line coupes and
sedans offer climate control for the
comfort of all passengers.
Attention has been given to the
ride through greater rigidity for a
more stable ride. Improved sound
proofing has also quieted exterior
sounds.
The other introduction into the
.Honda family was the CR-V sport
utility vehicle which came on the
market last February.
The uniqueness of the vehicle
lies in its four-wheel independent
suspension, giving it the agility of a

One thing which has not changed
for Chrysler is the price of the vehi
