Blyth Tykes tie It was a very even matchup when the Blyth Tykes took to the ice against Elma-Logan, Feb. 22. Elma-Logan got on the board first after being held scoreless by Blyth goalie Anthony Peters. Kristopher Campbell tied the game at 3:33 of the second. Blyth took the lead a few minutes into the third when Richard Greg pushed the puck over the line. The visitors could not hold off their opponent, allowing Elma- Logan to score with just over three minutes remaining in the game. The game ended in 2-2 tie. On Sunday, Feb. 23 Brussels travelled to Drayton for game four of this series and returned home with a 6-0 victory. In the first period Brussels scored three goals. Jason Kellington opened the scoring with assists from Brad Mulvey and Tim Machan. Three minutes later Brad Mulvey scored assisted by Machan. Brett Fischer scored to end the first period. In the second period, Brussels flashed the red light three more times. Mike Dauphin started the scoring, assisted by Tim Stricker and Shawn Nicholson. Two minutes later Mulvey scored Belgrave Juniors tie Howick The Belgrave Junior Girls met Howick in exhibition play, Feb. 17. Brooklyn Wheeler had an out­ standing game in net, making many saves to hold the home squad in the contest, said Coach Cook. The team continues to show great teamwork at just the right time of the season as they gear up for a year-end tournament in Ripley, March 1.
