Nancy Park was the organist on
Dec. 1 for the 10 a.m. service at
Knox United Church. Rev. Paul
Ross gave words of welcome. He
called the Doug McClinchey family
to the front to light the advent
candle on the 1st Advent Sunday.
While they were doing this the
hymn The Holly and The Ivy was
sung.
The service continued with
announcements being given by
Rev. Ross followed by prayer. The
hymn On Jordan's Bank was then
sung.
As this was White Gift Sunday
the children had all come into
church and sat in their respective
classes with their teachers. The
classes went to the front and
presented their gifts while Ann
Vincent and her daughter Lee-Ann
collected the congregation's gifts.
The children's chorus was being
sung during this presentation.
The minister continued with his
Sunday School bag for the children.
In it was a bag of breakfast oatmeal
— he spoke to the children about

The Christmas meeting of
Londesboro Happy Gang Seniors
was held at the hall on Wednesday,
Nov. 27. A delicious Christmas
prayer. The children then went
downstairs to their classes.
Come, Thou Long Expected Jesus
was sung, followed by scripture
from Isaiah 64 regarding people
who do not see or hear God's
words. God is the potter and people
are His creation. Scripture from
Mark 13 concerned the second
coming of Christ. The time for His
return is unknown, but everyone
should be prepared. 0 Come,
Emmanuel was then sung.
The sermon was "Don't Wait for
God". There are things in this
world that must be taken care of
and it is up to God's people to do
their best in this work, said Rev,
Ross. We, also, must remember
that God is always here to give
assistance — He can be our helping
hand. This closed with prayer
followed by The Lord's Prayer
repeated in unison.
Collection was then received,
doxology sung and offertory prayer
given.
The service closed with the
singing of Hark the Glad Sound
followed by threefold Amen and
the organ postlude.
