player. With gutsy determination and good hockey the
Lakers came away victorious in this Brussels matchup,

Penalties tie up Juvies' game
The Blyth Atom Rep team posted
two wins this past week to improve
its record to seven wins and two
losses.
On Nov. 15, Blyth travelled to
Clinton and dumped the home team
9-3. After giving Clinton a 1-0 lead
in the first period, the Blyth squad
came roaring back with five second
period goals and four more in the
third to coast to victory.
Cole Stewart led the scoring
parade with five goals, Micah
Loder added two and singles went
to Mike Bean and Andy Toll.
Assists went to Kirk Stewart,
four; Toll, two; T.J. Marks and C.
Stewart.
Justin Peters supplied steady
goaltending between the pipes.
The Blyth Bantam Hockey Club
travelled to Goderich last Saturday
night and came home with a 3-1
victory over the Goderich AE.
The win improved Blyth's record
to three wins, two losses and a tie.
Blyth dominated the play right
from the opening face-off but were
' met with excellent goaltending
from the Goderich side. Blyth
finally scored with two minutes
remaining in the first period and
On Nov. 20, Blyth hosted
Bayfield. Blyth took a 3-1 lead into
the third period, but allowed
Bayfield to tie the game midway
through the third frame.
Blyth scored with six minutes left
and added two more late in the
game to post a 6-3 win.
Cole and Kirk Stewart each
scored twice while Steve Van
Amersfoort and Cody Anderson
added singles. Assists were
collected by Ryan McClinchey,
two; Cole Stewart, two; Bean, Toll,
Marks, Van Amersfoort, Trever
Koehler, Loder and Cody
Anderson.
Eric Jarrett and Peters split the
goaltending duties for Blyth.
Blyth's next game is Wednesday,
Nov. 27 in Blyth against Zurich.

A penalty filled game set the tone
fot a tie between the Blyth Juve-
niles and Mt. Forest in Blyth on
Friday night.
The first period ended with the
visitors ahead by one with three
goals scored. Notching Blyth's
firstmarker was Mike Bromley,
assisted by Chris Stewart and Benji
Hakkers. The second goal went to
Stewart, assisted by Mike Salverda.
Blyth brought things to a tie in
the second period, allowing Mt.
Forest only one goal, while scoring
two of their own. Bromley got his
second off the stick of Peter Craig,
while the tie-maker went to
Hakkers, assisted by Mark John-
ston.
Each team squeezed out two in
the third to keep the game at a
stalemate. Stewart with help from
Chris Howson and Nathan Loder,
assisted by Craig and Mark John-
ston teamed for the Blyth points.
On Sunday, Blyth came up on the
short end of a 6-1 contest against
Teeswater. Coach Neil Salverda
said his team got few breaks in this
game. "The puck was just not
bouncing our way."
Salverda scored the lone Blyth
marker in the second period, with
an assist going to Stewart.
Teeswater scored two in each
period.
