Huronlea news

different version of Sentimental
Journey, the show we saw at
Wingham, starring the Huron
Players from Grand Bend. We
stayed for lunch which was a
special meal and very delicious
ending up with a dessert of hot
apple pie, and ice cream. We were
cordially invited to share in their
afternoon entertainment which was
going to be the Old Tunes, a group
that often comes to us.
A number of our group had livec
at Huronview, before Huronlea was
built. They were kept busy greeting
old friends and acquaintances.
That was the day the activities
people were acknowledged by the
management of the two homes as
being an integral and important cog
in the wheel of geriatric care. All
the members of both activation
departments were presented with a
corsage or a boutonniere.
Thursday a group went to the
Blake Orchards and gathered a
bushel or two of windfall- apples
which we peeled and sliced in order
to make 10 dutch apple pies. This
will be sufficient for us and the
apartment dwellers too.
We were pleasantly surprised to
have the senior classes (Grade 7 &
8) from Grey Central School, come
to entertain us. They were all in
costume.
The weekly dining out-program
has started up again and several of
our residents enjoyed the excellent
lunch they give at the United
Church.
The Gideon hymn-sing came out
again. They sing .beautiful
harmony.
