Rag Time band entertains
Betty Irwin of Belgrave and
Helen Wilson of London spent a
week holidaying at a cottage near
Grand Bend.

enjoyed last weekend staying at her
grandmother Betty Irwin's.
Beth Procter has returned home
after being a patient at Wingham
and District Hospital. Friends and
neighbours of the community wish

Mr. and Mrs. Dave McCormick,
Jeffrey, Gregory and Michael of St.
Catharines and Mr. and Mrs. Nick
Vesley, Jennifer, Kristen and
Stephanie of North York spent the
weekend with Mrs. Laura Johnston
and attended the Yuill Reunion on
Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. George Johnston,
Tara. Erin and friend Kyle of
Ilderton also visited with Laura
Johnston and Mr. and Mrs. Robert
Grasby and attended the Yuill
Reunion.
Gary, Jane, Gavin, Becky and
On Aug. 3 and 4 Garner and
Alice Nicholson, Belgrave and
Glyn and Margaret Wide, Hamilton
attended a Nicholson reunion at the
campgrounds of cousins, Bob and
Darlene Nicholson at Clem Lake,
Iron Bridge, Ontario.
It was a most enjoyable occasion
with relatives from Thessalon,
Rainy River, Elliot Lake, Sault Ste
Marie, Carson, from Southern
Ontario, Belgrave, Hamilton,
Lucan, Ingersoll, Campbellville,
Cambridge.
This was the second reunion, the
last being held two years ago at
Belgrave.
The 24th Yuill Reunion was held
Grayson enjoyed a flight to Calgary
where they visited in Alberta with
Keith and Joyce Van Camp and
family. The Van Camps recently
moved and are living at the
foothills of the Rockies.
Gary, Jane and family visited
with Bill and Sally Richards who
are living in the Okanogan Valley
in British Columbia. The Richards
were neighbours of the Van Camps
before moving out west. They
enjoyed many beautiful scenes and
attractions as well as the Calgary
Stampede.
Mrs. Clarence Yuill returned last
week from visiting her son-in-law
and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Philip
Feeley of Vancouver. They had
driven to Ontario to celebrate
Clarence Yuill's 80th birthday and
Mrs. Yuill returned with them to
their home.
The annual "Over 80 Birthday
Party" was held Tues., Aug. 6 in
Knox United Church, Belgrave at
2 p.m. Twenty-six guests arrived
from Wingham, Brussels and
Belgrave. Mrs, Agnes McBurney
and Clarence Yuill cut the birthday
cake. Everyone enjoyed lunch of
birthday cake and ice cream.
Sunday, July 28 in the Women's
Institute Hall with 32 relatives
signing the book. The afternoon
was spent visiting and playing
games arranged by Cameron and
Alice Yuill. Alex Robertson said
grace and a delicious pot luck
supper was enjoyed which was
arranged by Mr. and Mrs. Stewart
Leedham.
It was decided to hold another
reunion in two years with Mr. and
Mrs. George Johnston to look after
arrangements.
Relatives attended from St.
Catharines, North York, Michigan,
London, Ilderton and surrounding
area.
Barbara Anderson, UCW
Evening Unit leader, welcomed the
group. The program was then
handed over to Louise Bosman.
The roll call of those present and
birthday months was taken. Mrs.
Bosnian read a poem "The Train of
Life".
Alex Robertson's Rag Time
Orchestra, consisting of Alex
Robertson, Arnold Bruce, Ronald
McBurney and Mary Coultes
entertained with several lively
numbers. Alice Nicholson read a
couple of her well chosen readings.
The group enjoyed a short sing-
song, accompanied by Freda
Johnston at the piano, followed by
two solo numbers by Rev. John
Roberts accompanied by Kay
Roberts.
The orchestra again favoured
with several more numbers. Mrs.
Bosman read two poems
"Footprints" and "Reunion".
Candy man
This bewigged character
made a lot of young friends on
the parade route in Belgrave,
Aug. 3, handing out treats
along the way.
Where's Tweety?
Sylvester looked hungry as he
travelled down the parade
route in Belgrave, Aug. 3. The
"puddy-tat" was in town for the
Morris Twp. anniversary
celebration.
Families attend reunions
The special insert in the July 31,
1996 issue of The Citizen "Morris
Kicks in '96" inadvertently failed to
mention that some of the informa-
tion was taken from the commemo-
rative Morris Township Past to
Present, compiled by Jeanne Kirk-
by, June 1, 1981.
We apologize to Mrs. Kirkby for
the oversight.
Copies of Morris Township Past
to Present can still be purchased
from the municipal office at a cost
of $8.

Costumed characters walked the parade route for the
occasion of Morris Twp.'s 140th anniversary celebration
on Aug. 3. There was a huge attendance of onlookers as
well as parade participants at the event, which was held
in Belgrave.
Anniversary omissions
the July 31 issue of The Citizen,
Knox Presbyterian Church was
inadvertently omitted from the list
of churches in Belgrave.
We apologize for the error.
Joint service
Sunday, Aug. 4 Joint Service was
held in the Presbyterian Church
with members of the United and
Calvin Brick Churches.
