children's story. Phailop read the
scripture passage, John 14: 16-31
after which Pastor Amsey Martin
preached on the topic of "The
Glorious Ministry of the Holy
Spirit", in keeping with Pentecost
Sunday.
Pastor Martin pointed out that the
subject of the Holy Spirit is often
neglected in teaching and
preaching. The Holy Spirit must
experience for the students and
worship opportunity for the
congregation. The students
participate in planning, organizing
and administering of the tour, and
then prepare musically to present
the concert.
On tour, they are witnesses for
up with the seniors in attendance.
The following were winners:
Archie Walker and Joel Kellington
(twice), Ruth Galbraith, Andrew
Grant, Chris Mason, Mike Comeau,
Doris Hooper, Eileen Exel and
Stephanie Patch. Thanks students
for such a good time. There were a
variety of prizes offered for the
winners.
Punch and cookies were enjoyed
by the students before they returned
to Brussels Public School.

have His way, the empowering of
Christians. The Holy Spirit is a

He must be invited on a daily basis.
"We are born again when the

us," he said. The Holy Spirit makes

Gardner College. In their concert,
they will, through music, lead the
congregation in worship. As they
share their testimonies, they will
focus on how God has been at work
in and through their lives. They
will also answer questions about
Gardner College.
This year's musical package,
"Sketches of Jesus" was written by
Delwyn Hagen, associate professor
of music at Gardner College. He
has selected the young men who
comprise the male trio and has
trained them for this ministry.

when we are born again; we can
think on a divine level. God begins
a new process in us. The Holy
Spirit is the seal of Christ, the
assurance that we are part of the
family of God. The Holy Spirit will
teach us and remind us of Jesus'
teachings. We have the power of
the resurrected Christ over sin, self
and Satan. Our old self may want to
rise up again but the old self is
dethroned."
A mind controlled by the Holy
Spirit is one that is of life and
spirit, he said. The Holy Spirit is
the strength of Christian service.
The presence of the Holy Spirit
brings the fruit of the spirit, joy. A
person can have joy without the
bubbly, vibrant personality often
associated with joy. It can be a
joyful peace within a person's soul.
Pastor Martin went on to say that
one must be READY in the sense
that he/she must R-repent, E-
expect, A-ask, D-drink (receive)
and Y-yield to God.
Next Sunday Norman Barlow
will bring the message.
Thought for the week: For the
kingdom of God is ...
righteousness, peace and joy in the
Holy Spirit. Romans 14: 17.
