THE CITIZEN, WEDNESDAY, MAY 29, 1996 PAGE 17.
This week track and field was

Pethick said that his Grade 1 class
had a tug-of-war against team 3
(made up of Grade 2, 3 and 4) and
the Grade is won! They are small

Then the Grade 4s took on the

The top two children from each
Melba Fraser was greeter at
Duff's United Church on Pentecost
Sunday, May 26. Rev. Randy
Banks was away in London at
conference so Patty Banks took the
leadership role. Geoffrey Banks lit
the Christ Candle and the service
began with the reading of some
Jewish Folklore. The choir sang a
song called, Time of Dryness.
Barb Durrell called the children
forward and had them imagine
what it would be like if Pentecost
were to happen that day, where
there would be balloons flying
everywhere and everyone was

Carrie and Ben won at every event.
Mrs. Crocker and her Grade 4

pond study this past week. It seems
they encountered a skunk. Helen

Marie McGavin read the Gospel
and scripture readings.
Patty's sermon was called,
"Remember Who You Are."
Next Sunday is Communion and

is made up of five women playing
various instruments and a lead

This group has been together for 16

If any happened to see the
BlueJays game on Saturday they
would have recognized the woman
singing the National Anthem as our
own Margaret Mclnroy. It was the
Federated Women's Institute of
Ontario day at the Dome where
1900 gathered en mass for the
game. Margaret had been asked by

bush that they had ever made.
Apparently they were walking
merrily down the trail when a stray
dog passed them and took on the
skunk. Tbe kids and Mrs. Crocker
brought the smell back to school
with them.
June 1 the school and town are
having a village wide garage sale.
Be sure to drop up to the school to
have a look at all the wonderful
treasures that will be there for sale.
years.
That night you will also hear
Gloria Wilbee playing her guitar
and singing and Graeme Craig and
Don McDonald singing a duet.
Duff's Angels are doing two
numbers and Becky Brown will
entertain as well.
A big thanks was issued to all
those people who worked so hard
to make the smorgasbord dinner a
huge success last week. There were
360 people fed that night. A big
thanks goes to all the people who
came from far and wide to partake
of the delicious meal served.
