A report from Brian Treble, with the Huron County Planning Depart- ment, was reviewed. Comments were made by Chief Building Official Joe Hanna and Road Superintendent George Humphrey. Following the meeting a bylaw was passed approving the zoning change. Council accepted the resignation The May meeting of Londesboro WI was held on Wednesday, May 8. Winners were: first, Clark Ball and Glen Carter; second, Edgar and Harvey; third, Dorothy and Bob Dalton; lone hands, Harold and Harold. Three people won Share the Wealth. The next euchre is on Friday, June 14 at 8 p.m. Despite the fact that the munici- pal portion of the mill rate for the overall East Wawanosh tax bill is lower this year, ratepayers will still be hit with a one per cent increase, due to the county-wide re-assess- ment done in 1995 for 1996 taxes. East Wawanosh approved its $861,131 budget at a meeting April 30. The bylaw was to be pre- sented at the May 7 meeting. Council supported the Village of Blyth in its recommendation that land and education tax be separat- ed. However, council was not com- fortable in supporting the portion of the recommendation which states that the township would stop col- lecting education tax as of Jan 1, 1997 as taxes must be collected and paid. A resolution for the application for $25,000 supplementary monies on a salt/sand storage was approved. Grants were approved to the Bel- grave, Blyth, Brussels School Fair Board, $200 and the Brussels Agri- cultural Society, $50. school, which was very interesting. They got new programmes for the year. Council supported a resolution from Seaforth urging the Maitland' Valley Conservation Authority to reduce its board of directors from At the April 16 meeting of West Wawanosh council the budget was approved in the amount of $179,973 for township purposes. A proposal for the establishment of a parochial school in West Wawanosh was the subject of a public meeting at West Wawanosh council on April 2. The meeting was with regards to a zoning bylaw amendment for Part Lot 16, Conc. 10. People The sympathy of the community is extended to the Alexander family on the passing of their mother, Helen Alexander of Clinton. Helen was a former Londesboro resident for many years. 33 to 11.
