of Seaforth Community Hospital provide that
the Board of Directors shall include trustees to
be elected by members of the Hospital

not entitle the purchaser to vote at this Annual

Canadian Olympian visits at Blyth PS
as part of Adopt-an-Athelete Challenge
Olympic effort
Jackie Falconer of Blyth Public School, gets a few
professional shot put hints from Canadian Olympian
Catherine Bond-Mills when she spent a portion of Friday
at the school. Bond-Mills is participating in the Adopt-an-
Athlete challenge which enables athletes to speak to
students about values, teamwork, goal setting and
overcoming obstacles.
May 10 was an exciting day for
the students of Blyth Public School
as they had the opportunity to meet
and speak with Catherine Bond-
Mills, the current Canadian hep-
tathlon champion and Olympic
competitor.
Bond-Mills visited the school as
part of the Adopt-an-Athlete Chal-
lenge, sponsored by Bell Canada
and The Canadian Olympic Associ-
ation. Through the program, Blyth
Public School was randomly select-
The Huron Perth District Health
Council (DHC) is offering a
proposal writing workshop on
Tuesday, May 28.
This workshop is open to any
individual or organization
interested in improving their
proposal writing skills. Given the
lack of funding available for
projects, the workshop will focus
on how to write a successful
proposal and the challenges that
ed to be one of the 160 schools
chosen to visit with an athlete.
As well as giving the students a
few tips on a variety of track and
field endeavors, Bond-Mills spoke
to several of the classes about her
Olympic experiences, sportsman-
ship, values and camaraderie sym-
bolized by the event.
"It is a privilege to meet students
and discuss the commitment and
dedication required to represent
Canada at the Olympics," says
Bond-Mills. "Perhaps we can help
communities face in securing
support for their ideas. Part of the
workshop will focus on, what the
DHC looks for when they review a
proposal.
The workshop will take place
from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the
District Health Council office, 235
St. George St., Mitchell. Interested
individuals should register before
