Blyth PeeWees move on after Seaforth defeat
The Blyth PeeWee Houseleague
downed Seaforth two games - 0 to
advance in the first round of
playoffs.
Game one was held in Blyth. The
final score was 8-4. Goal scorers
for Blyth were Joey Sykes, Mau
Anderson, Derek Cook, Jeremy
The Brussels Novice team won
two games against Belmore last
week to eliminate them from
playoff competition.
On Tuesday, they won by a
lopsided 7-1 score. Brandon Blake
and Scott Armstrong each had a
pair of goals in the winning effort.
Atoms lose
The Belgrave Atoms lost a tough
2-1 playoff game against Stephen
Twp. last Saturday.
Chad Cook scored for Blyth in
the second frame, to put them in the
lead. Stephen tied the game at
11:06 of the third, and took the
winning goal at 4:41 of the
overtime period.
Manager Gord Folkard said the
contest was even and fast-paced
from beginning to end, and could
have gone either way.

Cook tallies 2
The Blyth Tykes lost a tough 6-3
game to Elma-Logan last Saturday
afternoon. Darcey Cook scored a
pair of goals for Blyth, with Josh
Albrechtas adding another.
Coach Rick Elliott said the team
displayed good teamwork through-
out the game, and he singled out
winger Heather Schmidt for her
standout effort.

close for comfort, with a Blyth Tyke moving in. The local club, which hosted the game,
Saturday, weren't able this time to pull out a win.
