THE CITIZEN, WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 24, 1996 Brussels Livestock report Cow prices continue decline, off another $2-$3 Sales at Brussels Livestock for the week ending Jan. 19 were: fed cattle, 723; cows, 384; veal calves, 270; sheep and goats, light run; stockers, 829; pigs, light run. The market at Brussels Livestock saw fed steers and heifers selling $1 lower. Cows sold $2 - $3 lower. On Thursday veal sold $5 lower. On Friday the steer calves sold $5 higher with the balance of stockers selling steady. There were 455 steers on offer selling from $83 to $88 to the high of $96.75. Eighteen steers consigned by Jim Howatt, Londesboro, averaging 1,383 lbs. sold for an average of $88.52 with sales to $96.75.
