Brussels Livestock report
Bryhome heifers hit $96.50, average $90.62
Sales at Brussels Livestock for
the week ending Dec. 15 were: fed
cattle, 491; cows, 218; veal calves,
218; sheep and goats, 366;
stockers, 1,666 and pigs, light run.
The market at Brussels Livestock
saw fed steers and heifers selling
s:eady with the cows selling $3 to
$5 higher. On Thursday veal sold
on a strong active trade. Lambs
sold sharply higher. On Friday
calves sold lower with yearlings
selling steady.
There were 343 steers, on offer
selling from $87 to $93 to the high
of $97.75. Twenty-two steers
consigned by Bill Hayden,
Goderich, averaging 1,399 lbs. sold
for an average of $89.75 with sales
to $96.50. Forty-five steers
consigned by Cunningham Farms,
Lucan, averaging 1,429 lbs. sold
for an average of $89.82 with sales
to $93.75. Twelve steers consigned
by Beetonia Farms Ltd., Beeton,
averaging 1,346 lbs. sold for an
average of $87.80 with sales to
$94.
