WI enjoys delicious meal ondesboro
The news from
The Christmas meeting of the
Londesboro WI was held at the hall
on Wednesday, Dec. 13. It began
with a pot luck dinner at 12:30 p.m.
They opened with the Institute
Service set
Greeters at Londesboro United
Church on Sunday, Dec. 17 were
Bruce and Kevin ShillinglaW.
Ushers were Erin and Erica
Horbanuik.
Flowers on the piano were in
memory of Clarice Wall placed by
the Lee family.
The Wheeler family lit the Third
Advent Candle. Scripture Matthew
11: 2-11 was read by Debbie
Hoggart. The sermon topic was
"Going Home".
A Minute for Missions was read
by Margaret Wright.
Huronview Fellowship is on
Thursday, Dec. 21 from 7 -
7:45 p.m.
The Christmas Eve service is
next Sunday at 7:30 p.m.

and family on the passing of Peter

the passing of Mr. Harry Tebbut at
Seaforth Manor on Saturday, Dec.

60 play euchre
There were 15 tables of euchre at
the hall on Friday evening, Dec. 15.
Winners were: first, Roy and
Marie Krauter; second, John and
Mary Vandenelson; third, Charles
Johnston and Illa Pollock; three
couples tied for the lone hands
prize; share the wealth, Mary East,
Alice Caldwell, Lloyd Appleby.
The next euchre will be held at
Hulled School.

Just a reminder — There will be
no issue of The Citizen, on
Wednesday, Dec. 27.
The offices will be open on Dec.
29, however, to receive editorial
and advertising for the Jan. 4 issue.
Deadlines for that day are 2 p.m. in
Brussels and 4 p.m. in Blyth.

meal. Each got a candy cane, which
was donated by Margaret Taylor.

quilting. They were presented with
a gift from the WI.

Reta Kelland gave a reading.
June read a piece on Santa's letter.
Hazel Reid gave a reading on the
Christmas mouse.
Minutes of the November
meeting were read and approved.
Reta gave the treasurer's report.
Correspondence was read regarding
a Blue Jay game on May 25. There
was also information from the
Huntington Society and a thank
you from Town and Country
Homemakers.
Plans were made for the January
meeting. Cards were sent to Doris
Batkin, Dora Shobbrook, Leita and
Glen Wiley and Anne Kroesen,.
Lucky draws were won by Hazel
Reid and June Fothergill.

The Christmas meeting of the
Cheerio Club was held on Tuesday,
Dec. 12. They met at the home of
Audrey Thompso- - the meeting.
Audrey welcon. 'eryone and
read an article on making
Christmas cookies. Everyone told
something about their early
Christmas memories. There was a
gift exchange. Beth Knox had a
reading on Christmas in Jamaica.
Members then proceeded to the
Hillcrest Restaurant for the
Christmas dinner.
Staff and students of Hullett Central Public School gather
Dec. 8 to wish a fond farewell to retiring teacher Glenda
Walter, left. Not only was Walter surprised by the gift
presented by Barb Martin, right, but also by the small tree
at the front of the school which appeared to be in bloom in
the winter. Elves had attached artificial flowers.to the

A Review of activities at
SEAFORTH COMMUNITY HOSPITAL
As the jubilant season of Christmas and the
promise of another year approaches, we wish to
extend to the community our warmest good
wishes. At this time of year it is good to reflect on
the activities of the past months while appreciating
the holiday season. Indeed, we thank everyone for
the warmth and spirit shown to our hospital and
together look forward to a new year of peace,
goodwill and happiness.
