Staff, students plan night of carolling
As Christmas quickly
approaches, the staff and students
at Grey Central are involved in a
variety of activities which focus on
the Christmas Season. Christmas
carol singing, Christmas story
writing and Christmas cookie
baking are just some of the
activities in which we are involved.
Congratulations to Christmas
Poster winners - Lacey McCall, Jill
Speiran, Tamara Diehl and Jenny
Wildman.
During the last week of school
before Christmas holidays we plan
to begin each day with a carol
singing session in the gym. At this
time we will also be able to enjoy
poetry reading, story reading and
choir singing by various groups of
students. Parents and other family
members and friends are invited to
join us each morning at 9:05,
On Wednesday evening, Dec. 20,

On Friday, Dec. 8 we had an
assembly where students displayed
their Blazer cheers. To get into the
Christmas spirit we sang some
Christmas Carols.
The primary students have been
practicing for the Christmas
Concert'. Mrs. Montgomary's class
planned a pajama day for Dec. 8. A
lot of people dressed up in their
P.J.'s. The winners with the best
pajamas were Kelly Coulter and
Shawn Cloakey.
The Grade 7/8s went to Tech 21
on Wednesday, Dec. 6. This has
been our second trip. Everyone
enjoyed it. The whole point of Tech
21 is to learn new technology and
to work independently without the

family and friends are invited to jon
us. The evening will conclude with
cookies and hot chocolate.
Two fundraisers are being held at
Grey Central this month. The
Parent Advisory Council is
organizing a fundraiser to purchase
resources for the school. Also our
Students' Council is raising money
to purchase uniforms for out'
athletic teams. They plan to sell
Chester Fried Chicken at $1.50 per
piece. Chicken will be available
one Thursday a month with the first
"chicken day" being Thursday,
Dec. 14.
The sympathy of Grey Central
staff and students is extended to the
Hiusser and Donkersgoed families.
MRS. STARKEY'S CLASS
In September we welcomed
Amanda Bright from St. Marys into
Grade 3. We have just welcomed
Tyler Nieman from near Wroxeter
also in Grade 3. Now we have 14
students 4 and 11 in
Grade 3.
Two groups have gaked muffins
and we will continue to try new
kinds each week. So far, we've
made Chocolate Chip and Banana
Muffins. The teachers buy from us
each week.
We are Early Years buddies to
Mrs. Hearn's class. We've taken
Fall and Winter walks with them,
read to them and played Halloween
games. Before Christmas we're

going to help them make Christmas

The competition is keen in Math.
We play "Reach For The Top" each
day challenging each other to see
who is quickest remembering
addition, subtraction and multipli-
cation facts. Right now, Sarah
Damen is top for Grade 3 and
Robbie Gebhardt is on top for
Grade 4. We have three class
treasurers who look after
beverages, hot dog and pizza
orders. Our two class secretaries
are doing a great job. We also have
a social convenor to plan our
parties.
Robbie Semple is our class
representative for the Environ-
mental Steering Committee.
Robbie Gebhardt is our Class
President.
Merry Christmas and Happy
New Year.
