Grey Central Echo Staff, students plan night of carolling As Christmas quickly approaches, the staff and students at Grey Central are involved in a variety of activities which focus on the Christmas Season. Christmas carol singing, Christmas story writing and Christmas cookie baking are just some of the activities in which we are involved. Congratulations to Christmas Poster winners - Lacey McCall, Jill Speiran, Tamara Diehl and Jenny Wildman. During the last week of school before Christmas holidays we plan to begin each day with a carol singing session in the gym. At this time we will also be able to enjoy poetry reading, story reading and choir singing by various groups of students. Parents and other family members and friends are invited to join us each morning at 9:05, On Wednesday evening, Dec. 20, Grey Central is planning a Brussels PS news By Krissy Dilworth and Justin Ruttan On Friday, Dec. 8 we had an assembly where students displayed their Blazer cheers. To get into the Christmas spirit we sang some Christmas Carols. The primary students have been practicing for the Christmas Concert'. Mrs. Montgomary's class planned a pajama day for Dec. 8. A lot of people dressed up in their P.J.'s. The winners with the best pajamas were Kelly Coulter and Shawn Cloakey. The Grade 7/8s went to Tech 21 on Wednesday, Dec. 6. This has been our second trip. Everyone enjoyed it. The whole point of Tech 21 is to learn new technology and to work independently without the Continued on page 22 "Carolling Caravan" to Brussels, Cranbrook and Ethel. Students, family and friends are invited to jon us. The evening will conclude with cookies and hot chocolate. Two fundraisers are being held at Grey Central this month. The Parent Advisory Council is organizing a fundraiser to purchase resources for the school. Also our Students' Council is raising money to purchase uniforms for out' athletic teams. They plan to sell Chester Fried Chicken at $1.50 per piece. Chicken will be available one Thursday a month with the first "chicken day" being Thursday, Dec. 14. The sympathy of Grey Central staff and students is extended to the Hiusser and Donkersgoed families. MRS. STARKEY'S CLASS In September we welcomed Amanda Bright from St. Marys into Grade 3. We have just welcomed Tyler Nieman from near Wroxeter also in Grade 3. Now we have 14 students 4 and 11 in Grade 3. Two groups have gaked muffins and we will continue to try new kinds each week. So far, we've made Chocolate Chip and Banana Muffins. The teachers buy from us each week. We are Early Years buddies to Mrs. Hearn's class. We've taken Fall and Winter walks with them, read to them and played Halloween games. Before Christmas we're Happy Birthdday Wilmer A man with legs like that should be in Hawaii going to help them make Christmas cookies and a craft. The competition is keen in Math. We play "Reach For The Top" each day challenging each other to see who is quickest remembering addition, subtraction and multipli- cation facts. Right now, Sarah Damen is top for Grade 3 and Robbie Gebhardt is on top for Grade 4. We have three class treasurers who look after beverages, hot dog and pizza orders. Our two class secretaries are doing a great job. We also have a social convenor to plan our parties. Robbie Semple is our class representative for the Environ- mental Steering Committee. Robbie Gebhardt is our Class President. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
