The Belgrave Annual Kinsmen Turkey Bingo was held on Tuesday, Dec. 5 at the Belgrave Community Centre. A program of sing-songs, accompanied by Phyllis Boak at the piano, musical numbers by Arnold Bruce, Phyllis Boak, and Ron McBurney and readings by Alice Nicholson were enjoyed following the meal. Following the program, cards, pool and shuffleboard were enjoyed. Numerous lucky prizes and draws were held. Winners of the lucky ticket draws were: Helen Martin, Les Shaw, John VanCamp, Charlie Cook, Lottie Scott, Kay Roberts, Phyllis Boak, Marg King, Ross Procter, Ruth King, John Roberts, Clarence Yuill, Alice Nicholson, Elsie Residents attend party Clarence Stokes, Wingharn, accompanied Mildred and Clarence Yuill and Olive Bolt of Belgrave to Listowel on Saturday, Dec. 2 to join in the golden wedding anniversary celebration of their cousins, John and Agnes Lane. Mabel's Moms met at the home of Mabel Wheeler at their regular time on Wednesday, Dec. 6. Attending were Andrea Stevenson, Mathew and Tyler; Kim Higgins and Laura; Linda Hess and Andrew; Bet Higgins, Meagan, Melissa, Kate and Lila Procter and Ben; Sherri Seppel, Christie Scott and Daniel; Claren Yuill; Sandra Dorsch and Melinda and Rev. Mary Jane Hobden. The topic discussed was coping with stealing. Stanley Black is a patient in the Wingham and District Hospital. Friends, relatives and neighbours wish Stanley a speedy recovery. Congratulations to Ken Hopper, who was nominated Kinsmen of the Year, for the work he has done for the club during the past year with the Belgrave and District Kinsmen Club. He accepted his plaque from president Harry Wilson. Past president Paul Moffatt was also presented with a plaque by the current president. Loma Glover, Thomas tmd,Sean, Colleen Van derjagt, Adatn, Abby and Alex of Port Carling spent last weekend with their mother and grandmother, Mrs. Betty Irwin. Forty-five Edgar relatives gathered in the WI Hall on Saturday, Dec. 9 for their annual Christmas get-together. The Women's Institute catered to a delicious Christmas dinner. Following the meal the children all gathered on the platform with Brenda Edgar at the piano singing Christmas Carols until Santa arrived at 8 p.m. Relatives came from Petrolia, Brigden, London, Blyth, Tavistock, Goderich, Lucknow, Wingham, Aylmer and Belgrave. Last Saturday evening Mrs. Ruth Johnston was a dinner guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Watson of Blyth. L. Johnston hosts UCW The Evening Unit of the UCW met for their Christmas meeting at the home of Laura Johnston with 19 members answering the roll call and donating a pair of mittens for the Christmas Bureau. Muriel Coultes began the meeting with a poem. The Christmas worship service was presented by Barbara Anderson and Laura Johnston which included carols and Bible readings to correspond and candles lit for Christ, Joy, Peace, Love and Faith. The offering was received and dedicated and the service closed with prayer. Norma Moore presented a Christmas trivia and a contest naming Christmas songs.
