The Blyth Bantams came out of

Ansley (two), Chris Carter (two),
Kyle Anderson, Jamie Black and

Novices lose
The Brussels Novice team lost a
close 6-4 contest to Milverton last
Tuesday. Brandon Blake scored all
four Brussels goals.

Armstrong (two) and Rachel
Elliott.
Trainer Murray Armstrong com-
mended his team's effort, despite
the loss, and credited goaltender
Nick Campbell for his solid play.
Brussels Houseleague Atoms suf-
fered two one-goal losses in a tour-
nament on the weekend in Kincar-
dine.
In the opening game, Saturday,
Brooklyn Wheeler turned in an out-
standing performance in goal as
Brussels and Kincardine played to
a scoreless tie during regular time.
There was only 1:44 left in the
five-minute overtime when Kincar-
dine scored the tie-breaker to take
the win.
With only eight skaters plus
Wheeler in net, the team made a
valiant effort against Ripley before
losing 4-3 with just 16 seconds on
the clock.
Ripley opened the scoring with
the only goal of the first period by
Trent Devitta. Jeff Linton, with his
first of three goals, tied the game
early in the second period with
Assists were awarded to Mason
and Carter.
Trainer Gord Haggitt corn-
mended his team's strong effort in
their victory, but criticized a lack of
concentration against Clinton.
