Public Health Nurse Marguerite Thomas who works out of the Brussels Health Unit office says that arrangements have been made with the Registered Practical Nurs- es to continue to provide foot care on a fee for service basis. In Brussels those in need of foot- care services can contact Janina Speers at 887-9859 or Thea Trick a t 887-9952. A recently completed program at the Health Unit office was "Living Well — A Healthy Lifestyle Pro- gram". Primarily geared to seniors, the program, led by Thomas, coy- ers a wide range of issues that apply to most age groups. From active sitting, to self-esteem, assertiveness and humour, the pro- gram talked about many things that work together to make the most of life. Thomas notes the positive focus of many of the lessons. "This work- shop was like home on the range, 'where seldom was heart a discour- aging word'." Thomas has been doing the Liv- ing Well workshops since coming to the Health Unit seniors program two years ago. She touches base with 'graduating' participants to check on how they are doing and see if they are continuing to prac- tise Living Well. • Blyth gets new village pins December 9 to December 16 Brian's Continued from page 7 to his attention.
