Snowmobilers gear up
for beginning of season
Winter has arrived and it's time
to unpack the suit, helmet and
gloves to Get Ready for Snowmo-
biling.
The Ontario Federation of Snow-
mobile Clubs (OFSC) is launching
Get Ready for Snowmobiling
Week, Nov. 20 to 26.
Local clubs are checking the
many miles of local trails, staking
and marking as they go, says B&W
Trailblazer member Rick Konarski,
of Blyth.
The Blyth SnowTravellers are
also marking trails and mending
bridges in preparation for snowmo-
biling season, says member Bruce
Howson.
Aside from regular maintenance,
the SnowTravellers are making
plans for a raffle on a snowmobile,
says Howson.
"With snowmobiling Ontario's
fastest growing winter recreation
and an economic activity which
generates a half a billion in related
spending in rural snowbelt commu-
nities, OFSC is pleased to promote
the special week," says OFSC Pres-
ident Bert Grant.
Get Ready for Snowmobiling

As the season for snowmobiling fast approaches the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile
Clubs and local affiliates are gearing up. During Get Ready for Snowmobiling week, the
Blyth SnowTravellers and B&W Trailblazers will be preparing trails by placing new marker
stakes and repairing bridges.
Riders raise funds for children
Ontario snowmobilers are turning to its 165,000 family
up their sleds in anticipation of across the province.

Snowarama have a great oppor-
