The Brussels Atom Rep team put
on an impressive offensive display
in their two games this past
weekend.
On Friday, they beat Goderich by
a score of 12-2. On Saturday, they
defeated Clinton 17-1. Goals were
scored in the two games by Nolan
Krotz (eight), Tyler Campbell
(five), Lee Dilworth (four), Mark
Hunter (three), Darrell McClure
(three), Kyle Stephenson (three),

McCallum (one).
After a lackadaisical beginning,
the Brussels Bulls came back in the
third period to trample the winless
Wiarton Wolves 11-3.
The Bulls travelled to Wiarton on
Friday evening, where after two
periods the score was tied at 3. "It
just proves that this team can play
when they want to," says Coach
Mike Henry, referring to his team's
eight goal third period.
Henry also commented on the
team's discipline, which he said is
improving as they kept the penality
minutes to under 30 for the entire
game.
Leading the scorers was Ryan
Wright with a hattrick, followed by
Members of the team included
Ryan Lee, Jeff Klassen, Joey
Sykes, Graham Worsell, Matt
Anderson, Jeremy Hanna, Derek
Cook, Adam Anderson, Joel
Arthur, Michael Bernard, Aaron
Bakker, Jeremy Van Amersfoort
and Shaun Bromley.
Coach Ray Hanna is very pleased
with his team's effort and skill in
playing together as a team. He
would like to encourage spectators
to come out and cheer their home
team on at their home games,
Thursday evenings, 6:45 at the
Blyth and District Community
Centre.
Assists were awarded to
Campbell (seven), Krotz (seven),
Dilworth (four), Stephenson (four),
Hunter (three), McCallum (three),
McClure (three), Houston (one)
and Scott McDonald (one).
Coach Alan Krotz said that,while
the offense was excellent, their

overlooked. He commended
defensemen McCallum, Houston,
Joel Hemingway, McDonald and
goalie Bryce Wedow for a good
effort.
Dan Sinclair and Tim Beyer with
two each and Brian McNichol,
Peter Ryter, Greg Fritz and Josh
Alexander with singles.
On Sunday the Bulls lost a close
4-2 game to a visiting Kincardine
Bulldog team. Scoring nods went
to Brian McNichol and Tim Beyer.
Henry attributes the loss in part
to a short-staffed team. ''Several
players have been released recently
and we are still looking to fill in the
pieces."
He added, too, that management
feels that until the roster has been
fleshed out the game scores are not
really indicative of what will be
The Brussels Tykes shut out a
host Blyth team on Saturday
afternoon.
Leading the scoring with three
goals and three assists was
seen from this Junior C team.
Henry commends his goalies
play for this past weekend. Ryan
Fisk was in net on Sunday, while
Jamie Taylor was between the
pipes on Friday. "Both goalies
played well this weekend. That
continued play has to keep happen-
ing."
The Bulls have no home game
this weekend, travelling to Walker-
ton on Sunday to face the Black-
hawks.
The executive is still in the pro-
cess of looking for a general man-
ager for the team. Henry has been
appointed as interim until one is
named.
Atoms outscore opponents
Matthew White. Also scoring was
Justin Thompson with three goals,
Chris Corbett with two goals,
Adam Corbett with one goal, and
Cory Chapman picking up an
assist.
Keeping Blyth off the scoreboard
was not an easy task, but Kyle
Gibson was right there making
terrific saves and pouncing on the
puck like a cat.
Keeping the chances to score to a
minimum was Brussels defence,
made up by Nathan Prior,
Christopher Jutzi, Adam McClure,
Chase Chapman, Tom Cronin, and
Mitchel Blake, all with great
defensive plays. Assistant coach
Charles Corbett says, this team is
showing what team work in hockey
is all about.
Blyth coach Rick Elliott said his
team put out a good effort. They
had several opportunities and close
calls, but were unable to get the
puck in the net. It was only their
third game, however, and they
show improvement with each
match, he said.
