between the hours of 1:00

such vehicle will be liable
for any damage to their
vehicle or to Village snow
removal equipment. The
depositing, blowing or

For those Blyth business owners

lage's Discover the Magic
brochure, the deadline for artwork
and ad information submission is
Nov. 22 (today).
The booklet, issued by the Blyth
Business Association, will be avail-
able for distribution throughout
1996. There will be 12,000 copies
printed in December or January.
The executive members of the
BBA also agreed, at the Oct. 26
meeting, that membership letters
will be sent in early December.
Corrections and additions from
the previous meeting covered the
printing of 15,000 placemats and
the Christmas lighting ceremony. .
Large red plastic bows will be
purchased for the decorative light
The Blyth Horticultural Society
held its Christmas meeting in the
form of a potluck supper, Nov. 14.
Thirty-seven members sat down to
a delicious meal co-ordinated by
Lois van Vliet and Shirley Fyfe.
Following the dinner, Deanna
Snell, treasurer, read the financial
statement and Donna Taylor,
secretary, read the minutes.
Dan Taylor, on behalf of the
president Harvey Snell, who was
unable to attend because of illness,
read a thank you note from Harv.
He thanked the lunch and program
committees and gave a special
thanks for all the donations from
members and others in the
community. He also thanked the

a bank balance of $1,259.29 with

It was recommended the dona-
tion from the Legion Ladies Auxil-
iary be invested in a flexible GIC at
CIBC.

Insurance, both members of the
association, will be asked for
quotes for liability insurance for the
BBA.
The association will obtain fur-
ther information before making a
decision on incorporation.

accomplished pianist and played

Nobrotzky had a large display of

The meeting concluded with a
sing-song of Christmas Carols and
door prize.
Homecoming
rolling on
Enthusiasm rarely seen in Blyth
has sparked good progress in
preparations for Homecoming 96,
says committee assistant secretary
William Manning.
The committee gathered Nov. 18
to discuss several options for activ-
ities on homecoming weekend as

former Blyth students.
Committee members John Stew-
art and Manning spoke with
William Hearn, chair of the Clinton
High/Central Huron Secondary
School reunion committee, to
request the names of students who
had attended their event.
Hearn said it had been decided
information concerning their stu-
dents would be secured and
released to no one, however, due to
the circumstances, the Clinton
'Reunion committee agreed to
release names of Blyth area stu-
dents after the Blyth committee had
done a search of their own.
The homecoming committee will
also utilize newspaper ads to locate
former students.
Committees were formed to
arrange food catering and sugges-
tions were made for activities and
entertainment each evening of the
event.
For Friday, Aug. 9, it was sug-
gested an outdoor dance could be
held at the Lions Pavilion or just a
hospitality centre.
Both the Blyth Lions and Legion
will be contacted regarding enter-
tainment on Saturday night follow-
ing a parade. Local organizations,
businesses and families may be
asked if they could sponsor a band
for the parade.
Sunday activities may include an
interdenominational church service
and the viewing of mementoes at
the school.
Other items to be researched
include the cost of a street-wide
banner, the possibility of people
movers and a fireworks display.
The next meeting will be held
tonight, Nov. 22 at 7:30 p.m. at
Blyth Public School.
